This was for my middle son's birthday. The castle is based on Lindy Smith's castle cake in her Storybook Cakes book. The board is covered in fondant and I had painted on the message. The crest symbols are edible images of the Kelley family crest.

Never traveled with a round cake before, thanks for all the tips for traveling with it, it arrived in one peice and right side up :)

I made this for my grandson's 1st birthday. It is a 14" chocolate, vanilla, & strawberry cake. My daughter wanted it to look like the plate. I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

White cake w/ BC and fondant accents. Customer gave me a napkin to work from and told me to come up with something. This is my interpretation! It is definitely not perfect but I am still practicing. Thanks to those on the site who've done similar cakes..it got the creative juices flowing. :) I will post 2nd pic of this cake, smash cake and napkin together.

I made this cake to look like a quilt that the baby had (bottom tier) and the top tier looks like another blanket the baby was getting at the shower. Buttercream on all with devil's food and white cake.

My friends wanted a birthday cake done for their little boy turning 2. They wanted a Thomas the Tank cake (which I did) but I did this one as an extra. It is FBCT, and I am totally addicted to doing them !!! I know that we are supposed to blur out faces on pics of cakes, but I don't know if this counts ????

I made this for an Eagle Scout Ceremony. The medal is made using royal icing. I thinned the royal icing with water. Then I used a small paint brush to smooth out the icing. The detail on the eagle was done free handed.

This is a Butter Cream Transfer (bct), My first one. I thought it turned out great. It was less time than doing all those stars. I used the instructions on this site. They were great instructions I just didn't know how thin to make my icing. Anyway my 3 year old loves it and it will be a big hit at the party.

This is the birthday cake I did for one of my husband's best friends. The tiers are 6",7", and 8". I iced the cake with chocolate crusting cream cheese buttercream and added white fondant circles and chocolate fondant balls dusted with super gold luster dust. I also used the fondant balls on the topper--just wired them and added some royal icing for exta glue between the wires and the balls.

As you can tell, I have gotten MUCH inspiration from this site! Thanks to you all! The outfit is a design from Gymboree. I decided to go with the socks instead of the usual booties. The lady I did this cake for loved it! Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and mmf accents.

This is the second time making this cake from the Wilton Book. This time for a boy shower. I had less prep time, and was not as organized as I had wanted to be...I used the grass tip, around the edges with the buttons. Don't know if I like it better or not. Also, I had to partly decorate it, and transport it 4 hours away, then do last minute decorations and stacking...Still everybody liked it, and the booties are on a dried fondant disc to take off for later...

More baby boy cookies. I did them for a friend who had a baby boy recently. I wish I had a steadier hand and that I could get my royal to the right consistency. Sometimes it comes out in waves instead of straight lines and it drives me crazy, like the wheels on the buggy.

I chose black as the color to go for this cake. an order of just a plain cake for a 17 year old guy. decided on black; since it is the color bachelors love so much. :)

This is a baby shower cake for a baby boy. I used the bow technique on this website--first time-- pleased with it. (Needed to use gumpaste with the fondant bows since the bows were cracking :( ) I need more practice on the figures --- anyone have any techniques how to make them faster? :) The mother to be was happy with the cake. That's all that matters..right?

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. The bear I used is the bear she is using in the nursery. The bear is a FBCT, but when I took it out of the freezer the head and one of the 'paws' fell off!! OMG!!! So I ended up having to free-hand both of them. But then I ended up 'building up' the snout so it would look more 3-D. She loved the cake, so that's all that mattered.
