Thanks to many CC'ers I was able to come up with this cake. A bit simpler than those who created cakes before me but I had a larger car on top & smaller size cakes. I cut the letters of the boy's name free-handed (it had been a while!!!) so those came out alright, and the 7 represented his age. Everything is fondant other than the gumpaste checkerboard flags. TFL!

7 inch oval on 10 inch round. Covered in fondant; 's' logo and cape fondant. White bc clouds and yellow royal icing name and on building windows. It was at a very humid outside birthday party and the fondant started to pull away from the cake by the name, but the birthday boy was thrilled with his superhero cake! Some of the cake ideas came from seeing other great posts!

Thanks to Ursula40 for this great idea!!! This is all buttercream. I was looking for a different idea for a basketball cake. I used a 1/2 sheet and ball pan, cut out the spot for the ball and frosted them together. It was greatly appreciated by the birthday boy!!

Iced w/ bc, then lightly airbrushed w/ blue and brown. The "sheriff" is white modeling chocolate, hand painted then accents were overpiped w/ bc.
The front of the invitation (enlarged) is to the left. It has that really faded look, so I was trying not to make the cake too bright. It's supposed to be somewhat watercolor-ish. The letters were piped using a font I found here on CC in the 'Sketches & Templates' section of the gallery.

This cake was for my little boys 3rd birthday. I did not go all out with this cake like I did with his Blues Clues cake last year but he loved this one too. Spiderman was what he wanted so, I made him spiderman's face it was a chocolate transfer with bettercreme icing...EVERYONE loves that icing!!

This is not one of my favorites. made as requested to resemble pics of his boat, and to include the following requests: the eiffel tower, cooler of beer, buoy, sand bar, "summer of paul", "40" being dragged by the boat. Forgot to take pics after I put the lid and ice cubes in the coolor! Learned alot from this cake.

Chocolate cake with vanillla BC finish. The brick connectors are also BC, and I had quite a time shaping those little things! The ladder, wheelbarrow and shovel are all hand molded from a putty-like royal icing. I saw a cool lego cake on CC last month that had the construction look (thanks, aimers!), so I found a way to incorporate something similar by cutting away some cake and packing in stacked candy bricks. Lego mini-figures are going to be placed at various spots on the cake by the birthday boy's Mom

The middle of three boys, this was Spenser's third birthday cake selection. I did use a 3D pan for Blue, but I did some additonal sculpting to give him more dimension. I also added the birthday hat.

This year Evan wanted an alligator birthday cake. Now, I know that gator's don't have spikes but the one on his party decorations did, so the cake did as well. His eyes were cupcakes and the left one kind of got droopy on the journey to the party.
