I know, I know these Tiffany cakes seemed to be overdone on Cake Central, but not in my world and the Birthday Girl is raving to eveyone as I write this blurb. This is my 3rd fondant practice cake. It is my Grandma's lemon cake recipe. The color was achieved by equal amounts of Americolor Teal and Sky Blue. Your critique very welcome! (Critique: assessment of something, usually a creative work, with comments on its good and bad qualities.) Thanks super big bunches.

This is my first attempt at tissue fondant box cake and figures. The elephant didn't turn out the way I wanted at all but I will survive. All in all I like the cake. Giving it as a gift for a friends son's 3rd birthday. I used my pasta maker to make the fondant stripes, the fettuccini attatchment. That was fun, but time consuming.

I had a bride who wanted to match a Ben-Israel cake she saw on tv. This is black buttercream with silk flowers. Bottom and top tiers are styrofoam. Note: Take and awl or screwdriver with you (and duct tape) if you need to insert flowers into Styrofoam. I think this cake is simply gorgeous.

A cake replica of a Birks box. The lid and box are both butterscotch spice cake iced in maple buttercream. The cake, bow, tag and "satin" are all MMF. The only things on the cake that arent edible are the pendant and chain. (a "gem" picture frame and cut down chain)

I decided to do this after having suggested it to someone else. It was easy to SAY...difficult to do! I totally wrapped a stacked and carved cake with edible images. Somewhere along the line, I mismeasured something basic, and my images didn't fit. I had to chop them all up into pieces, so it's much sloppier than I intended. The checkerboard was a lot harder than expected, too. That's why I stopped and framed it with beads I already had from another project. :)

I made this for my niece who LOVES shoes (what girl doesn't!) so I came up with this shoe box idea with play shoes on top. This is my first attempt at MMF and thought how hard can it be? I was so wrong. It took me forever to do the box lid. I just need more practice. However my sister, who is very critical and will never admit she likes anything I make, said this was the best tasting cake she has ever tasted (it was a Duncan Hines box and chocolate buttercream with the lid MMF) so that made me happy

I don't get to use fondant a lot - most people dont like the taste - So I was happy to finally do a cake where I could use it. It was my first bow - which turned out ok. It is a Martha Stewart Perfect White Cake with Raspberry mousse filling and buttercream icing with MMF accents of course.

Crumbled cake scraps drizzled with frosting and covered with malted milk chips (looks just like kitty box litter), Tootsie Roll pooh. It's a fun and easy cake! And, a great way to use cake scraps.

I was asked to make a cake for a little boy turning 6, they just said he likes videogames and stuff like that so I did some research and came up with this one, I wanted to make more similar to real one but ran out of time!!, spent quite a while on the control also.

My first fondant bow!!! I think I came out pretty cute. It was also my first square cake so it was a new experience doing the straight edges. It is 6X6X5 Strawberry Swirl delight with strawberry cheese cake filling. Covered in BC and Fondant with Fondant trim and deco. It is for my husbands co-worker, for her birthday.

Yet another uncreative cake this week!!! Did this as a joke on my son's buddies who were celebrating a birthday over spring break. Amazingly realistic...............I had no idea you could do this with a tootsie roll!

This is a variation of one I did before. I ran out of time and couldn't make the dress to go on top, so I had to throw on some fondant ribbons and a gift tag!

Boom box made for my son's birthday. It turned out great, considering the picture was out of my head. It has 8- 8x8 cakes for the speakers, and 4- 8" round cakes. The cakes alternated between chocolate, white and yellow cakes. The frosting is butter cream. The antena is a 36" inch straw and the handle is made out of 9 bendable straws that I taped together. The tape deck face and radio face is made out of fruit leather. The buttons are made out of graham cracker. spkrs r waffles woofers sm york mints

I made this cake for my step-son's birthday party. He wanted a "Fear Factor" party, so we found a cake like this on the web and decided to try it. It sure did gross out the kids! It is crumbled up chocolate and white cake with vanilla sandwich cookies smashed up on the top and some died green to look like fresh step

of _ChristyB_ cake. My client visited CC because she didn't really know what design she wanted for her birthday. She came across this cake , loved it, and asked if I could change the color scheme from pink to purple.

Here's the second gift box cake for the weekend. This is also borrowed from someone on this site. My customer found it and I couldn't find it, so if you see this and you made it, thank you for such an awesome design!!!

This was a mild challenge. Mom wanted a cake to match the napkins--Specifically a bear with a pink dress on, a bow and the jack-in-the-box. Used the Wilton bear pan and 2 6" square cakes (trimmed down to about 4 1/2"). Small smash cake on top that mother was going to put a #1 candle on. All BC except for dress and bow.

This is a cake I did for Course III instead of the square box cake in the book (I don't have square pans yet!). I have admired the Tiffany box cakes I've seen on here and wanted to do one similar because I love the color.

My best friend turned 30. She loves flowers. This is all done in MMF. The "dirt" is oreo cookie crumbs. It was a dark chocolate fudge cake, buttercream icing, with a "ding dong" filling.

Snakeskin Print shoe made of gumpaste, imprinted with a rubber texture mat, and painted with petal and luster dusts. Shoe templates from "Romantic Cakes" by Kerry Vincent.

Cake is 2 layer vanilla with chocolate ganache filling, buttercream and fondant covered. Mimics a shoe box. Tissue and lid are gumpaste.

This was a last minute request from a friend for a double Christening of two cousins. The mothers were having a "Tiffany blue" and mauve theme, so I tried to incorporate that into the design. Bottom tier chocolate mud, top tier, white chocolate mud, covered in fondX. Bows, plaque and bears made with gumpaste and the bows were dusted in super pearl lustre. Unfortunately, I took this photo before I put the mauve ribbon around the board, and didn't take another until after it was cut!

This was so much fun! I got this from a book, they had you use Pastilliage for the sides of the box and the lid but I wanted it to be a box of chocolate so I used white chocolate. The border is melted chocolate mixed with some cold water to harden it. So it really is a "box of chocolate." Oh....the cake is a regular sponge cake with bc.

This was suppose to be the shoe box with a lid and tissue paper but I got lazy and just placed the shoe on top. It was made for my 2-year old that loves shoes and purses. It was the first time I made a chocolate mold AND first time I used my luster dust.

The base cake is buttercream; the keepsake box is pink and white marbled fondant. Pearls are fondant beads painted with pearl dust and vodka and strung on dental floss. The rose is gumpaste.

I was happy to have the opportunity to make this... its a big one, a total of four ten inch layers, each on its own board for ease of serving. I wish I was better at smoothing fondant and making perfect corners, so if anyone has any tips or critiques I would love a PM with some helpful techniques! I was happy about how my logo turned out though, using wax paper and food marker.

First cake for my mom for Mother's Day. It is a three layer 8" chocolate cake with Pettinice flowers, buds, leaves, bow, ribbon, rope trim, tag and string. Everything is edible except the floral tape and wire for the flower spray. The picture is at an angle so you can't see it's actual height which was 6 inches tall.
