Made this cake for friends daughter's last (18 years old) ballet recital. Gumpast bow (thanks to the forum), buttercream light pink and white (swiss dots). Had to use 2nd bow, as the first was a disaster!

This is my first fondant cake! I just love working with it. I like a more simple looking cake, so I did a little less than the book.

This is the first time I've ever really decorated a cake. It's all fondant (I know I need lots of practice!). It was really more purple in real life.

Any tips or comments are appreciated!

I made this for a friend. She wanted a simple, all white, round wedding cake with dots and a bow on top. This was to serve 150+ (not counting the top tier). It was lemon cake with lemon filling.....all buttercream icing except for the MMF bow....Now for the horrible part.....I was just getting over the flu and I guess I blame my forgetfullness on that.....I didn't use dowel rods when stacking this.....and u guessed it, it started to lean back and the bottom tier started cracking after I left.....

I made this for my friend's Mother. Her retirement party & Mother's Day happened to fall at the same time. She has a lot of hobbies, so her family wanted to somehow display them on the cake. I chose to write it around the cake on the ribbon in caligraphy. The top tier is French vanilla and the bottom is chocolate, both with buttercream filling. The bow is fondant with gumtex added to it.

First cake for my mom for Mother's Day. It is a three layer 8" chocolate cake with Pettinice flowers, buds, leaves, bow, ribbon, rope trim, tag and string. Everything is edible except the floral tape and wire for the flower spray. The picture is at an angle so you can't see it's actual height which was 6 inches tall.

Made a tres leches cake for my sensei who loves this type of cake. Cake also has fresh cut strawberries in the filling and decorated with Pastry Pride. Bow was interesting because I tried making it with just candy clay, but it's been too warm and humid here in San Diego, so I had to redo them by mixing the candy clay with fondant and gumtex. It was a little better, but still sagged a little after 4 days of letting it dry. At least the fondant tasted a lot better :)

First paid cake! White and chocolate cake with buttercream and fondant accents. Hello Kitty made from fondant. Luster dust used to highlight accents. I can see the imperfections but am happy overall with how it turned out. Thanks to all who inspired me, especially Boween.

This is the very first cake I did all by myself, without a course and I braved doing fondant. It was for a friends 30th birthday. I am very pleased with it, although it took a very long time and my nerves were shot by the time I was done. I must have redid the bow about 5 times before it was right. It took me a few weeks of thought and preparation for this one! But well worth it!

Had an order for a 11x15 cake for a doctor's office and the cake needed to be decorated for a birthday and a baby shower. Here's what I ended up with. Lemon Sour Cream Cake, torted and filled with lemon mousse, iced in Butter Cream. Bow, streamers and banners made out of Gumpaste.

I made this for a bridal show. I like it, though everyone was confused by the wedding rings. People thought they were pretzels or something, lol. I should have just put a monogram in there & been done with it.

OK, this is a practice cake I made. I wanted to practice stacking cakes, making bows, and making cornelli lace. I learned a lot including what to do better next time. Everything is mmf, royal lace. Any advice would be appreciated.

This was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and MMF lettering and bow. I let this crust a bit too long before I tried to finish smoothing the icing, so it cracked a bit, but this was for a family member so I didn't worry too much about it. The cracks were actually less obvious in person, but I think the flash on my camera made them stand out more!

First THANK YOU to all of you who helped me figure out how to prop this lid up. This was made for my sister-in-law, Lorrie. You can't see it very well in this particular picture, but the box is full of Whitman's Chocolates. It's a 2 layer 8X8 box with a 1 layer 8X8 lid.

This is my first wedding cake, not very happy with it at all, except for the fondant bow. Had many flaws, and it was damaged on the back side while loading in car, and I tried my best to do touch ups. But still did not cover the damage. The bride was very happy with it! A GREAT BIG THANKS to "sunlover00" for all her help!

Here is a cake that I made for a Friend's Sister. The wedding was 4 hrs. away. I didn't put it together here, she put it together when she got there. This was the first time i attempted a fodant bow, I was pleased with the way it turned out.

This cake was copied out of a Wilton Yearbook. They no longer sell the original candles but I found some similar ones at a party store. The accents are made from half gumpaste half mmf. The hat and bear are hand molded mmf/gumpaste. Royal icing drop flowers add a border. I had issues with the chairs and table standing up straight. I also think I would have done a quilted table cloth if I could.
