This is a dummy cake I made for the Mid-Atlantic Cake Show - Wedding Competition. The cakes are covered with fondant/MMF mixture. The topper is a sugar mold and the flowers are gumpaste. The double hearts on the table were formed using a candy mold and fondant/MMF mixture. The small square cake was real (needed edible for tasting) and also covererd in fondant/mmf mixture. I found picture of poinsettia and used pin prick method to transfer design and then piped over design with royal icing.

So, the vines aren't blue, but the name sounded right to me! This cake was so much fun, because the Bride & Groom only specified "vines with blue & white flowers", and then allowed me to do whatever I wanted with it! So, it was a lot of fun! Check out some of my other work at www.OCakes.com, thanks for looking! =)

This is a cake I did for Course III instead of the square box cake in the book (I don't have square pans yet!). I have admired the Tiffany box cakes I've seen on here and wanted to do one similar because I love the color.

This was my 2nd Easter Egg that I did for my family. I had a lot of green frosting left-over from another cake....... so I was already part-way done before I started thinking "oh no! rotten egg!" What do you think, and be honest - it looks like a rotten egg, right? LOL... I just went with it, since it was for my own family & they just like to eat the cake anyway =)

This is a cake that I made for my family for Easter. The idea was taken from one of the Wilton books but their cake was heart shaped. It was my very first time doing daisies (haven't had that class yet) so I'm pretty happy witht he way they turned out.

This is chocolate cake with whipped frosting. Blue is colorflow. I had a horrible time with smoothing the whipped frosting. Also, the writing was whipped and came out pretty wavy so I went over it twice- I think next time I'll use piping gel for the writing.

I LOVED doing this cake, because 'The Cat in the Hat' was always one of my favorites growing-up. I found an image online & cut it out, then traced it onto the buttercream with a toothpick once the frosting was able to get firm in the fridge. Flipped-over the image & traced it again, that's how I was able to get them so close, but the rest was free hand, so their faces & some parts aren't identical.

This is a No Special Reason Cake! I just felt like playing around. Mistakenly I did the rosettes before putting on the Walnuts on the side. So I had to place each individual walnut by hand so I wouldn't get crumbs on the rosettes. :) Thanks for looking.

Well, I figured it out, I guess. I needed to put Blues Clues and Star Wars on the same cake and here's what I came up with. I couldn't find a Blue figurine, so I made him, and let me just say, I hate Wilton fondant. I bought the stuff because it was already blue, but you can't get it to stick together or dry or anything. So Blue's a little goofy looking, but the customers loved it. The boys tore it apart in about 30 seconds, so I guess it didn't really matter all that much how it turned out anyway.
