This is my back up plan for an 3-D Elmo cake I have to make. If I can't get the Elmo to sit up without looking like he's been beat up, then I'll just use these chocolate designs around the cake! LOL. This is only my second time working with chocolate floodwork. It is definitely time consuming to do so much detailed work, but like I said, if the 3-D thing doesn't happen for me, I've got these chocolate babies to fall back on!

These cupcakes were inspired by a posting from bkrmama and I found the Ernie cupcakes on a Sesame Street site. I had these for my son's party and then made more (plus Elmo) for my son's daycare class. The kids all started shouting out the character names! These were REALLY easy and quick to make. About an hour for 26 or so. I had all the colors ready. The eyes are marshmallows with a dot of dark chocolate or black frosting. All the rest is tinted buttercream (except Big Bird's beak). Enjoy!

This cake was done with the 3D cruiser cake pan. Everything is done in BC except for the seats and the wheels which are done in MMF.

Our youngest 1st birthday, he loves Balloons so I made him a few cupcakes to have of his own to play with. For everyone else I made the Wiggles Big Red car from one of his fav. books. All covered in Buttercream. (July 2005)

A Sesame Street bday cake I did for my daughter's 2nd birthday this past weekend. I really had alot of fun making the characters. If only I hadn't run out of time the day of the party to really focus on the cake itself! A fun project nevertheless.

I did this cake for my brother to give to a friend of his for his birthday. My brother requested a big penis because he said it would suit his friend. The cake is a doctored BC yellow cake made from 2 6x3" round cake and a dome shaped cake on top. I covered the cake in butter cream and covered it in fondant. I molded a couple balls out of rice krispie treats and used them as the testicles and used more fondant as the scrotum. The seamen is made from a mixture of butter cream and piping gel to help give it a more glossy look. I also used butter cream for the pubic hair about the cake and blue lines for the veins.

I covered this cake with Satin Ice fondant. All accents and characters including light post are edible. This was my first "biggie", complete with a personalized cake base, which I think made all the difference. I was pretty pleased with the way it came out. I had a little left over batter so I threw in a smash cake for the baby.

Another concoction for the 4-H cake auction. My version of a big cookie sandwich. Two chocolate chip cookies baked in 9-inch rounds with parchment paper, so that's why they have weird edges. The middle is chocolate fudgey frosting and the top is bc frosting.

I constructed this cake out of Sour Cream Poundcake and Buttercream (and prayers) lol.. Actually it was very sturdy, thank you to CC members for the inspiration. I used jellybelly rocks, brown sugar and oreos for "dirt" accents. I also made a dozen chocolate cupcakes with orange construction cones for this order as well.

This is for a little girl's first birthday, I made a small smash cake to go with it. Even the pillows are cake! This was my first paid cake. If you can imagine, I had a horrible time with the fondant covering the couch. it's all one piece though, so I'm proud of myself! The figures are all fondant/gumpaste and everything else is cake. Vanilla with chocolate filling & buttercream frosting all covered in fondant..

Idea from someone on this site but I'm not sure who--so thanks! Mom wanted the smash cake to look like the large cake and she was putting a candle on the top for the flag. Used the wonder mold atop an 8" round then atop a 10" round. Smash was the mini wonder mold atop a 6" round.

Last year it was so hot my cake kinda melted. :-) So, this year I went the safe way and made a BIG (15x10)
pb chip cookie and decorated that instead. Simple but nice I think. No melting!
