I made this cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She is obsessed with Sesame Street so it was a perfect fit. The characters are all plastic toys but everything else is fondant.

This is my first attempt at a carved cake, and my second try with fondant. This was inspired by a cake I saw on Cakecentral and another on Flikr, but I added my own spin on it with extra cracks in the shell and Big Bird legs. The cake is strawberry with vanilla frosting and fondant. I skewered the fondant legs into the cake and they sagged from the weight. Next time I use dowels. I put down black fondant first, behind the white fondant, so it'd look better when I cut out the cracked area (thanks Duff). Unfortunately you can see the two rectangular patches of black showing through the white a little-- but it's not too bad... I'm still learning.

Two of my sons, my ten year old and my four year old, have a birthday three days apart. I didn't have time to make two cakes so I made one big one. One side was Sesame Street and the other side was Star Wars. All cutouts were done with fondant and figures are fondant with royal icing. Too fun.

Elmo marble WASC filled with whipped vanilla pudding and iced in BC. MMF Accents. Elmo's head and arms are RKT, body is cake. Tried something new with the little characters - I used fondant in the character's body colour as a base, outlined the character and coloured in the rest of the pic in chocolate, then attached and steamed to melt the chocolate to the fondant. Ummmmm, probably not worth the effect, but it worked! Thanks for looking.

After getting ides from everyone in this site this is what i came up with. I wanted to use my fountain but didn't want to use flowers around it so i used chocolate chip chookies since cookie monster loves them.

I got the idea for this cake from youtube.com. The figures and decorations are made out of fondant. I made this cake for my nephew's 1st birthday. It was a big hit and it just happened to match all the decorations perfectly.

A friend of mine sent me several photos she found online of Sesame Street cakes, and wanted me to incorporate something from each of them for her twin boys' birthday. Some of the cake was my design, some inspired by others online and on CC. 8" square, 6" & 4" rounds, all MMF. Smash cakes are buttercream with fondant & royal icing decorations. I love how it turned out!

everything is fondant. first time making these characters...I'm really happy w/ the way they turned out. Customer found this cake online from (I believe its Sandra?) sorry I can't remember her CC name), but I hope I did it justice :) Smash cake is all BC...I traced the image onto cake w/ a toothpick & filled in.
