My friend came back from a 6 month trip to Ecuador where she took care of Orphans. I asked what top 5 things reminded her of Ecuador and she said, Kids, Nuns, Ice cream, bed bugs, and poop. (long story) So i incorperated all of it in a cake. It was fun to make. MMF and buttercream.

Bedroom scene before the Valentine's dinner date. Bed and side table are cake with fondant quilt and table topper . The lamp and vase with flowers on the table are gumpaste and fondant. Headboard is gumpaste with gold luster dust painted heart decoration. Cake board (floor) is covered in modeling chocolate with a wood texture and 'tile' impressions, accented with fondant heart shaped throw rugs.The walls are cake boards wrapped in treat bags, cut and ironed. I added a gumpaste door and frame, a gumpaste mirror and calendar. The draperies and headers are fondant. The dress, handbag and shoes are all fondant .

Dark Chocolate Cake with chocolate buttercream filling covered with fondant. The bed is also a cake. Everything on top of the cake is made out of fondant.

Two 1/4 sheet cakes layered with vanilla butter cream covered with fondant. Headboard/footboards made with fondant and gum paste mix. Small characters were added at the party and not pictured. TFL!.

Here's another version of a Toy Story cake I've done before. This time I decided to also make a little rug and toy box. Unfortunately I didn't think of doing the toy box in advance, and it the fondant only had a couple of hours to harden--hence the drooping lid. But I still think it is way cute! The figurines were purchased in a set at the Disney Store. The bed was a 10in square that I cut in half and stacked. Everything is fondant.

This is a cake I made for a baby shower.. Covered in MFF, with MFF bears and stars and assorted accent pieces.. The bed frame is made from pastillage.. Hope you enjoy!

The bassinet was made by using a 6 inch, double layer, cake covered in Fondant ruffles. The bassinet canopy is Fondant mixed with a little Gum-Tex. RI dots. TFL

This was a cake done for my sister who turned 50. She loves to relax in bed and read with her dogs all around her. The bed sits upon a giant book. She really loved it.

The bed is yellow cake with raspberry creme filling, covered in my buttercreme and homemade fondant. The bedposts and the child's name are gumpaste, and the pillow is a piece of cake covered in fondant. The wood flooring, why, that's Pergo, isn't it? No, actually it's just more fondant. I created the woodgrain effect using brown food coloring mixed with vanilla extract, and I painted it on. This cake was SO much fun to make!! It was my first time attempting a woodgrain. I made planks out of the fondant and fitted it together just like when we put in our flooring. :) This cake was inspired by another one I found on this site; I'll try to find it and give credit.

Hahahaha This cake makes me laugh everytime I see it.... it was a birthday "gag" cake for my brother in law. (my husband graciously modeled for me) haha But dont worry... its a long time running joke between the two... so its not as near as creepy as it seems. haha

Well, today is my 2 year cake anniversary! The first cake I EVER did was my daughter's 1st birthday cake and this is her 3rd birthday cake. I was so happy with it! Thank you to libs for her Sleeping Beauty cake as well the others on here! Everything edible except the stupid bed posts. I brainstormed for weeks trying to come up with a way to make them edible but caved and used dowels. I didn't use any molds for anything and my daughter was THRILLED! TFL!

I got the inspiration for this cake from fellow CCer SusieZ and her extremely cute cake. The girl that requested this cake asked for me to give the guy a nice "package" on a bed. Guy is molded out of a gum paste/fondant mixture. Zebra print on sheets is hand painted. Headboard is made out of rice krispy treats and covered in fondant. Bed is covered in MMF. TFL!

i made this cake for my daughter orla for her 12th birthday.my first time makin people n boy was it a job n a half!!!basic 12" sponge cake with buttercream n strawberry filling,everything else made from mmf xcept for heads and headboard which were made with gumpaste.in some photos you can see an elastic band on the headboard cause it broke but i managed to glue it n it was fine.all in all i was well chuffed with my efforts..PS the birthday girl is in bed wearing a party hat,her older sister is on the computer on the floor n the wee head pokin out the bottom o the bed is their 6yr old brother!! all the other girls r orlas friends who came to her sleepover...

A cake for cousins newborn daughter. The crib is made of 50% gumpaste and 50% fondant. TFL :)
