I used the stained glass type technique (forgive me for not knowing a more technical name) in a cake class I took a while back. Although I do believe I screwed up the colors...but he's so cute!

Fondant with basket weave impression roller. The mom has a thing for red shoes, even got married in a pair, so I did red fondant booties. Bear, bottle, pacifier (my husband made :) ), blanket all made out of fondant. Everyone loved the blanket. I used a dot impression roller on the blanket and then cut the edges.

10" B/C icing with fondant babies, bears & buttons. First time making babies, bears or buttons for that matter. Was a lot of fun. Pleasantly surprised at how it turned out.

They wanted a copy of their invitation. The photo looks so simple...doesn't reflect all the work that went into recreating this. All the the teeny-tiny pieces of fondant used to make the bear, the handpainting, etc...Cake was lemon buttermilk (so yummy).

This was a last minute request from a friend for a double Christening of two cousins. The mothers were having a "Tiffany blue" and mauve theme, so I tried to incorporate that into the design. Bottom tier chocolate mud, top tier, white chocolate mud, covered in fondX. Bows, plaque and bears made with gumpaste and the bows were dusted in super pearl lustre. Unfortunately, I took this photo before I put the mauve ribbon around the board, and didn't take another until after it was cut!

I made this for a little girl's 1st birthday. The Care Bear is a FBCT. I thinned-down buttercream icing and 'painted' the Gingham effect on the cake. The cake matches the invitations and other party 'stuff'.

This cake was done for a young lady who loves teddy bears. Her school colors are red and blue. This was my first attempt at a 3D Bear cake...I was not too pleased with the final results...but I learned a lot. I will try this one again soon.

This cake was problem after problem. I was for my best friends baby shower, thank god it was not a paying customer or I would be so emberresed. On the day of the party we were in a tornado warning, the humity was terrable and the fondant strips I was trying to put on were like mush. It was pulling instead of cutting, it looked offal. I kept kneeding powdered sugar in but it did not help, oh and I had ran out of clear vanilla and so my BC was tan instead of white. Oh well she loved it that is all that matt

I thought this would be a fun cake to do to practice stars...I didn't like the way the stars looked so I started playing with the tip and icing consistency and ended up with an ewok instead of a bear...

Many thanks to Meghan89 and ellepal whose cakes inspired this one and who each generously shared instructions for the techniques. Mini bear and 9 x 13 layers were lemon cake with Italian meringue "buttercream" flavored with limoncello. Decorations are of fondant and of gumpaste with mini-marashmallow "bubbles".

My friend was home on leave and had to return to Iraq before her daughters 2nd birthday. I surprised her with this cake so she could celebrate with her daughter before going back to Iraq.

This cake was a collaborative effort of my good friend Elsa and myself. We finished the cake a few minutes ago. The baby shower is tomorrow. The Cake was baked in a metal bowl, covered with fondant and inverted. Pram wheels and handle are made from store bought candy. The Baby, bear, baby bottle and blankie are fondant. Thanks for looking!

This is where it all started. I told a friend I'd throw her a baby shower and make the cake because I was short on cash. Then before it came time to make this cake, I had 3 wedding cakes, a birthday cake, and a bridal shower cake all on my to-do list. When I get into something, I really get into it :-)

This was made with the stand up cuddly bear pan. The books he was sitting on looked so bad I cropped them right out of the picture. I wish I had not used them but I needed more cake than this guy would feed.

This was one of the simplest cakes I have made.I simply cut the shape out of a chocolate sheet cake, and coloured it in.I put a tad too much red in the icing though which resulted in poor Pooh looking like hes eaten too many carrots!

This is an 11"x15" marble cake with buttercream frosting, covered in MMF. I made all decorations out of MMF. Little Lizzy Joe likes the Care Bears but her Mommy doesn't. So, she asked me to make something in between teddy bears and Care Bears. So here it is! LOL

This was my first experience with doing baby blocks. WAY too hard. I think I should freeze them next time before I frost them. All the other stuff is fondant, the quilt, bear, etc.

Really didn't know what to do with this cake. The customer brought in a napkin and said she wanted the bear. I think that border turned out okay, it kinda goes with the napkin?!
