I made this cake not long after having started cake decorating and it's still one of my favorites. Pound cake decorated with fondant. I love all the colors and I always wonder what the two of them are talking about when I look at the pictures :)

This was for a 9 year old who loves Penn State and Baseball. We came up with this idea to combine the two. Cake is iced in IMBC and the baseballs around the bottom were freehanded with candymelts.

This is for a friend's son's 12th birthday; thus the scoreboard! The scoreboard is chocolate candy melts made into a plaque with popsicle sticks. It's a yellow cake with cream cheese frosting; the "dirt" is brown sugar and the people are from Wilton. Fun cake!

This was done for a young man turning 16. I have done many baseball cakes ine the past, but I did not want this one to look too childish. After searching my clip art, I found this baseball player, and used it to make a BCT. The background is airbrushed.

I made this cake for my son's baseball team party. The grass was a blast!! (It needs to be mowed!) This was VERY short notice and the other half of the ball broke, so this was about plan c or d...I finished it 30 minutes before I had to leave. Oh well, the boys liked it. It's 2 9x13 layers with half a ball on top. One layer was chocolate, one marble fudge, and the ball was yellow cake, all with buttercream frosting.

This was my first cake done outside of my kids birhtdays. It was a graduation cake for one of the kids from our church. He was active in several sports and wanted that incorprated on the cake. All I could think of was to put a bunch of balls on it. With the help of this site and all the awsome ideas, I added the yearbook base and icing sheet diploma. Tassle made from fondant and kandy klay, writing on binding was edible marker on icing paper.

VERY last minute cake for a Little League Coach friend. I couldn't find my #233 grass tip so I had to use coconut. My printer ran out of ink so I couldn't do real colorful banners. It was such a disaster!!! Having only one hour to think of ideas, plan, bake and create - I guess it could have been worse! LOL
Marble sheet cake covered in butter cream and coated in coconut. Diamond is MMF. Baseball is Devil's Food cake with butter cream filling and frosting, covered in MMF.
