This cake is one that my husband help design. I must say I didn't much care for it but he thought it was awsome. It is supposed to look as though Albert Pojous(sp ? ) number 5 for the cardinals just hit the ball which is busting through the cake. The friend I made it for knew right away what it was and loved it, so maybe it was just me.

This cake came from inspiration from MsSugarBaker (the hat) and meghanb (the cardinal). All fondant with buttercream accents. I added "2006 World Series Champions" on the bill since the won the title the night before I had to do the cake. I thought it was fitting. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!

I added an A's hat to the fondant baby because the mother is such an A's fan. The baby's nursery is in this theme as well. Fondant mitt, baby, baseball and bats.

This is a cake for my pastor, who is a huge Cardinal Fan. Apologies to Detroit fans, but my DH came up with the idea of the tiger under the baseball and I couldn't resist. Cake is chocolate, chocolate syrup frosting, decorated with buttercream grass, writing. Baseball is cherry chip coated in Satin Ice Fondant.

Got my inspiration from Steady2Hands cake. Made this up for my son's baseball team end of the year party. Just used a square pan and the sports ball pan. Buttercream icing. Got a ton of comments on it. This was my first cake that non-family people saw.

Used DH banana cake made in a mixing bowl and filled with a whipped chocolate mousse. First time making this. I need a bit of practice. But I think it made a nice birthday gift nevertheless (along with the baseball glove and ball cake).

Thanks to Kanelli for sending me the "how to" magazine article, I was able to make this cake in time for the party yesterday (along with a Thanksgiving cake and the Flames Baseball Cap cake). The two brothers (not twins) loved their birthday cakes. I know I need practice, but it was fun to do. The ball came out badly, but.........
The cake is chocolate fudge from this site and filled with a peanut butter filling (delicious) and covered in chocolate MMF.

I made this cake for my son's 2nd birthday. He LOVES baseball. The glove is chocolate cake and the bottom cake is rum cake with pudding and raspbery filling, and buttercream icing. My son is allergic to egg whites so the glove and ball are frosting from a can. He can eat that.

Made this cake for a birthday party. Used a picture from the internet to get the idea of making the cake in the shape of a baseball with the Cubs logo on the cake.

These little cakes turned out to be a lot more work than I had thought they would be. I made one for each of my children as a Thanksgiving table decoration/dessert.

When I talked to the dad about this cake he told me he wanted a cake in the shape of baseball w/coconut icing!!??!! So this is what I came up with! When I delivered it to him...I've never seen a more confused-shocked face from a customer!! My mom worked w/him so I asked her to find out if he liked it...and she said he was very confused and shocked b/c he'd never see a cake like that and wasn't expecting it! He thought he was getting a sheet cake w/a pic of a baseball! But he said he was very pleased!!

This is not one of my better cakes. I was asked to make a cake for a baby shower for a baby boy still in the womb referred to as Little Slugger with a baseball theme and this was the design I came up with. When the cake was finished I thought was does the so-called bear look like an Owl???? and why didn't I make the baseball white with red treads?? I'm not sure - I guess I was just thinking about the baby and pastel colours.......next time I'll do better.

I made this cake for my son's Birthday. He is a huge Cardinals fan. I made Rice Krispie treats into balls and covered them with rolled fondant to make the hat and the baseball. I used rolled fondant and an exacto knife to cut out the St Louis Cardinals logo.

Made for my friend's husband who is a huge George Brett fan. Carrot cake made in the t-shirt pan, orange buttercream crumb coat and then covered in fondant. Logo and number were hand-done on rice paper with edible marker, buttercream border and writing (which is terrible - I'm so tired tonight :-(! ). Collar and sleeves were painted on with gel food colouring thinned down with vodka.

My Grandson's favorite player for New York is Jason Giambi so he had me to make him this jersey for his 11th Birthday Cake. I did the buttons from MMF and used a #10 tip to cut the circles. This was a first , some things I would change next time.

This was for a patient where my friends mom works (hospital). He takes all the nurses from their floor to a Red Sox game every year. He is a huge Red Sox fan, and works at Dunkin Donuts. She threw him a little party to thank him. The emblem in the middle is free-hand, and the Dunkin Donuts symbols, Citgo sign and Yawkey Way are colorflow. The field is piped using basketweave tip and alternating shades of green. The bases are marshmallows that I cut in half.

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. Half of the cake is rich yellow butter cake filled with vanilla mousse with chopped up reese's peanut butter cups (the mom-to-be's favorite candy). The other half is a tasty buttermilk devils food cake with cookies and cream filling. Frosted with whipped cream butter cream and brown sugar for the dirt. The baby is a FBCT and the sides are decorated with NF sugar cookies iced with royal icing and glace.
