This is a prototype for my youngest granddaughter's 1st birthday. I used scrapbooking paper, paper crimper, and an edge punch. The tutu is actually a hair tie that fits nicely around the base, and the crown is a tiny hair comb. Thanks for looking.

My husband's goddaughter asked for a ballerina birthday cake. Her mom wanted a sheet cake with whipped icing. I found inspiration from this website... I freehanded the ballerina with a toothpick and then filled it in with buttercream icing. Lots of fun for a mom with two boys!

Round 3" x 6" on the top and bottom with a 2"x5" in the middle. Fresh strawberry filling. Fondant slippers formed freehand starting with fondant sausages. Covered in sections. Used the wilton graceful vines impression mat. for the tutu skirt and rear design inset. I've wanted to do the lacing and a bodice for a long time. I'm happy with the way it turned out:)

Cake is covered in MMF. Ballerina and flowers are made of MMF. Shoes are carved cake covered in MMF. This was my first time using MMF and didn't get it mixed up too good or smoothed out enough.

I did this for my aunt's 70th b'day - she's a former ballerina. Tips of pointe shoes for the base tier, OTT luxe
middle tier and a glitzed up "Giselle" costume for the top. (that was my fave of her roles) TFL :)

My first "free-hand" cake! I enlarged a coloring page from the internet to use as my cutting template but the drawing for the outlining is completely free-handed. The whiskers are lollipop sticks w/icing drawn out over them using a #5 tip. I was very pleased with the top of this cake even though my icing wasn't cooperative for some reason (I sifted and don't normally).

Here's a cake I did for my daughter this past weekend. she just turned 5, my little baby is growing up too fast! Anyway, she is a ballerina and wanted a cake that looked like her tu-tu and was very sparkly so this is what I came up with. It's buttercream with fondant accents and a real tiara.

This was made for a "pink" party. I just kind of made everything that came to mind when you say the word PINK! Chocolate tiara and butterflies. MMF makeup, shoe, roses, and ballerina bodice. Everything else is BC. There were also a few dozen butterfly cupcakes that went along with these...

I actually like this cake pretty good (except the red insides of the slippers YUCK), esp after I had some real issues tying all the colors together. However when I went back over my client's emails I realized they wanted things sticking up all over the cake! She mentioned a 3D ballerina and slippers and bows and flowers but she wanted them sticking up. I remember thinking "I'm not sure how to make that look good" but then I must have forgotten to try to make it work, after I made the 3D ballerina.

I don't make a whole lot of figurines....this mom wanted a "3D ballerina" on her cake. I guess she probably didn't really mean a whole figurine but that's what I ended up doing. I think she ended up fairly cute except maybe more work on her face, esp mouth.
