I made this cake for my son's 2nd birthday. He LOVES baseball. The glove is chocolate cake and the bottom cake is rum cake with pudding and raspbery filling, and buttercream icing. My son is allergic to egg whites so the glove and ball are frosting from a can. He can eat that.

This cake was done in buttercream, is 3 layers, and I used a chocolate kiss for the golf tee. I used an icing tip covered with a paper towel to make the indentations on the ball

My first crack at the "sports ball" cake. Decided to make a Christmas ornament out of it. Buttercream icing smoothed with wrapping tissue paper instead of the viva method. Worked out pretty good. Made my own gold piping gel with gold dust, and piping gel.

These are cake "truffles" I sold (yeah) to a friend at work for her to take as a dessert to her family's Thanksgiving. There are 45 of those suckers in there. I made a label to stick on top wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving and listed what each kind was. She liked it.

This is my first cake I actually made for someone else. The couple play nine ball all the time. It's a plain yellow cake with buttercream icing and the sides are cocoa flavored buttercream. I used gumballs and a chocolate truffle for the balls. My writing needs practice, I know. But it was fun and they loved it:-)

I got this idea from a member on CC, thumbs up to all the great members here!! I used the sports ball pan, like she did, & iced in my chocolated buttercream. However, since I am NOT a fondant fan (ick!), I opted to make "feathers" from White Chocolate. I plucked some leaves from my orange tree & used them as my "molds" for the feathers, just adding colors as needed to tint. Also instead of fondant... The turkey's head is a rice krispie treat, his neck a "twizzler" candy, & all else is buttercream! ty all!

I made this fun cake for my son's birthday. The smiley face was made with the ball pan. I wanted to use rice krispies for the hat but to my dismay, my children had ate the cereal. Yikes! So since time was ticking away I just softened up some marshmallow a little bit and squished and cut them into a birthday hat kind of shape. It worked alright.

Well.. it is what it says :) 4 kinds of cake balls inside a chocolate MMF covered cookie box :) Cornelli Lace that the tissue was supposed to stick to, but didn't. (Its smushed where I tried. :)Cake balls were: Dark Chocolate, White cream, Brown sugar cream, and Mint Chocolate. Yummy! The tissue paper isn't edible... just pretty :)

and... My idea came from agagnier's cake :) Very pretty cake. Thank you for the idea, what a good one it was

Here's my first attempt at Cake Balls. Fun, but I'm definatly not an expert yet at 'dipping' them. Please excuse the messy ones. I decorated them with RI holly leaves and berries since I was taking them for our Children's Christmas Program at church.

I made this for my MIL's birthday. She knits and tried to teach me (with little success). The only thing I would change is that I would add some BC to the knitting needles (skewers) to add to the effect.

I followed the instructions as in the forum, but I found they were very soft in the middle, but taste delicious if they are cold! I made adult flavors with Bailey's hint of mint and chocolate, creme de cacao, and limoncello. I also made the multi sprinkle one for the kids that had vanilla caramel coffee flavoring. Easy and they look good!
