This was my very first (no directions) stacked cake. I made it for a friend for her baby shower, she originally had given me a photo of a wedding cake on fondant in this was my version of that because I did not how to work with fondant yet. My friend wanted it to look like stacked gifts, and wanted the 3 pearl design throughout the gifts. I love using real ribbon so I cut small pieces and inserted them vertickally to make it looked like a wrapped figts. Froisting is vanilla whipped cream & piped dots.

My first baby shower cake. They wanted 25 cake squares so I did a 10x10 butter cake with buttercream icing!

I made this cake for my mom's birthday. She looked at it for a couple of seconds trying to figure out what was going on. Then she said "Your'e pregnant!" She was so excited.

A HUGE thank you to Jelena for the how-to on making the wings on my "Fairy babies"!! I couldn't have thought that one up on my own! First time trying the butterflies fromt the how-to on the site-really simple!! Turned out great-my client is going to flip. I am really happy w/how this turned out..usually I find something not to like, but I am thrilled w/this one. Bottom tier (in green) is a dummy-the pink layers are cake :)

Did these for an order today, every time I make petit fours I'm reminded of just how much time they take. The only requests were pink with yellow, and baby shower-ish.

I've been dying to make this cake. Ever since I say the one done by llee on this site it's been one of my favorites. I have to say her onesie and booties are better than mine but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out for my first try. The writing is painted on with silver luster dust and the booties are painted with pearl luster dust.

Here is my take on the popular clothesline cake. BC icing and accents, clothes and basket are made from gumpaste. Pacifiers are plastic cake decorations.

I did this for a friend's baby shower. I decided to use purple instead of pink (for a girl!) since pink and blue are so traditional! Obviously...if you look at my smoothing and borders...you'll see I'm an amatuer. The cradle and stars and moon are done with chocolate. Moon has been brushed with luster dust. Thanks for looking!

This is for a friends baby shower. When I see the photo...I see all the imperfections with the frosting...smoothing, covering, borders...etc....and the sheep don't line up. The cradle and moon and stars are done with chocolate and the moon was brushed with luster dust. Thanks!

My very first experience with fondant. I made the fondant myself using the marshmallow recipe but it didn't dawn on me to add color to it. :) Now I know! :)

This cake was made using "Mrwarnke's" duck cake design as a guide. The shower theme was ducks, and they were having a girl, so pink bows for the ducks.

The cake followed the nursery theme of Guess How Much I Love You. I made a rabbit from royal icing and placed it on a two layer buttercream iced cake. I painted the colors of the rabbit with thinned food coloring. This was my first time using a royal icing figure.

This was for a baby shower today. This is a design I've been working on and wanted to do ever since I started doing cakes! I love sheep. It finally materialized, and that was fun. A friend of mine, Cami, joined me to learn how to decorate, and she did the stars and moon and helped lay the MMfondant.

This was a cake for a fellow teacher who was having a baby. It was my first time doing basket weave, so I was pretty happy with it. I still need practice, though...

My first cake order (stressful! lol). I tried to do the fondant baby cake out of buttercream, (I hadn't learned fondant yet). 2 6'' cakes and one 8'' with the party balloon pan balloons.

I used the oval pans that came with the Wilton Course 2 kit to make this cake (three layers high) and a styrofoam floral ball cut in half, hollowed out, and covered in fondant for the hood.

This is a baby shower cake I made for my best friends cousin, this was my first attempt at making a bassinette. It was a really fun cake to make and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It is a 12" and 8" double layer yellow cake with buttercream icing, the bassinette is made using a mini egg pan. I used one whole egg cake for the base and cut one in half for the hood, it's set on a mound of icing to hold it in place and to use it for something to attach my bottom ruffle to. The ruffles are made using a tip 1

10" & 6" yellow cake filled with raspberry and all covered in fondant. Ribbons and trim non-edible, everything else is. Booties are painted with luster dust and the plaque is fondant with rice paper over top, once again dusted with luster dust. Idea was based on a cake from thecakestore.com.

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. Although I made a few mistakes, I am pretty proud of the way it turned out. I ran out of time to make a fondant ribbon, but this beautiful satin one did the job nicely. I was flattered (and nearly appalled) when one woman thought it was a stack of presents and reached out to move it! I took it as a compliment!
