This cake just super reinforced how much I hate character cake pans :). I really, really, really wanted to stay away from using the typical 'stars' but, as you can see, I didn't completely escape it!

Made for a coworker. Not totally babyish or anything, but the colors were soft and matched their bedding choices for the nursery. My first time doing a bow, I loved it and I think I'll be doing many more of them. Thanks for looking.

Modeled after a diaper caddy on the mom-to-be's registry. The basketweave is meant to be rattan but I had trouble getting the ganache to correct piping consistency. Also my pink IMBC just would NOT smooth properly so try to look past that. Gumpaste handle and baby essentials. Fondant "liner" is embossed w/a cutting wheel and edged with luster dust. Diapers are little cake layers covered in fondant. Top 2" of caddy is styrofoam w/the center cut out; I didn't want to risk collapse by carving out the cake.

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. This is my first actual party cake. I was very proud of it! Both layers 10' and 6' are chocolate cakes covered in whipped cream. Mosaic pieces are melted white chocolate painted pink. Inspiration was taken from the many mosaic cakes found here. Top tier had a Wilton Super mom to be topper but I forgot to take the picture with it! Thanks for looking and all comments welcomed!

Made this to accompany my sister's baby shower cake. Cupcakes are french vanilla, with homemade buttercream frosting. They were done to look like roses, but after decorating with pink sparkles, white chocolate mosaic pieces, and plastic bottles, you cant really see the roses.
Thanks for looking!

I made this cake to match the napkin from the baby shower for a little girl. The word "baby" on the cake is an FBCT that I attempted to make like the word "baby" on the napkin. All in all I thought it came out a pretty good match.
French Vanilla cake, french vanilla filling and all buttercream frosting. TFL!

Made for a family member's baby shower. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling (8" & 5"). Covered in MMF. Figures and flowers are MMF & Gumpaste. I fell in love with this (Sweet & Precious Ideas) design the first time I saw it and couldn't wait to try it, even though I knew the flowers were way out of my league. I learned a lot and the mom-to-be loved it...what else could a cake newbie ask for!

This is my first cake after a long break to focus on schoolwork. It is for a double shower--a boy and a girl. Thanks to all the people who have done onesie cakes for the inspiration. I tried two colors in the icing bag for the border. Top border has blue on the outside; bottom has pink on the outside. Color of photo was funky due to crazy new lightbulbs in kitchen. I am a Critique Subgroup Member so all constructive comments welcome. Thanks.

This is a copy of a cake I saw on this website. I am sorry I don't know who to
thank for the inspiration, but thank you to who ever it was. I made 2 of these
cakes to announce my pregnancy to our families. It was so much fun as it
took people a minute to clue in.
