This was the first decorated cake I ever made! It was definately before i learned how to smooth buttercream. But I still love this cake. The eyes, lips, and cheeks are made from berry starbursts. The bow and pearls are not edible.

9x13 double layer cake. One french vanilla layer, one triple chocolate fudge layer with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream icing. Based on decorating theme. The saying on the front is An oink, a moo, a baa, a neigh, a baby girl is on her way. Candy clay animals and the flowers are candy clay buttons for the centers. A little hard to see in the photo.

Made for a co-worker's baby shower. I tried to make her to feed about 30, so she came out a bit too round. I have a better plan for my next one.

I used half of the soccer ball pan to create the rattle and the ball at the end of the handle is a rice crispie treat.

Here is my version of Baby Cake. There are so many nice ones here, thanks for all the inspiration. I did mine with 2 10 in rounds, top being chocolate peanut butter chip with peanut butter filling and bottom is Raspberry Marble with cream cheese filling. All covered in buttercream. Fondant accents.

Ok, this was a little hard, the mommy to be is a Mary Kay Consultant and wanted the products incorporated on the cake and this is what I came up with. Butter cake with fondant accents, and the little purse is a small loaf pan cake with fondant and the letters on it is the baby's initials. Also the onesie has the Mary Kay logo on it hand painted. They were so HAPPY with it, and I am so relieved, please tell me what U think, TFL

Tiny baby clothes hang on the clothesline around this 2 tier cake. The cake is covered in fondant and the decorations and topper are made out of gum paste.

This two tier cake is covered in a basketweave with molded chocolate decorations and solid pink chocolate booties on top. I added silk flowers too.

I was sent the picture of a blanket with all of the animals on it and my client said make a cake to match but we would like the animal with the baby on her head on the top of the cake some how!So here it is white 8 inch bottom iced in buttercream and fondant animals 6 inch choc top with fondant dragonflies and leaves and baby and mama in a bow with it's a girl sign made from gumpaste.

I made this baby shower cake for a friend. I used her baby bedding for the idea. Her bedding is from Kidsline and it was called Pop Daisy. The cake is covered in fondant and all of the decoations are fondant as well.

Theme for baby shower was Sweet Pea. The woman that threw the shower said that the couple had two peas & a pod salt & pepper shakers at their wedding and wanted to incorporated that into the shower & cake.

12x18 chocolate fudge cake iced in buttercream with fondant onesis,dots, and daisies. This is number 1 of 2 cakes made for this shower.

Both layer carrot filled with cream cheese. Iced in cream cheese with fondant accents. Pattern on the sides matched mom-to-be's nursery bedding & top matched a print from the nursery. I used one of the crusting cream cheese recipes from azeboi2005 and it worked great, held up better than the one I normally use. The next time I'll stick to a darker icing color - the brown was much easier in cream cheese!

Top view. Freehanded chicks to match a print from the nursery. I was worried it would look unrecognizable - but they loved it :) Carrot cake with cream cheese icing and fondant accents.

Cake that matches the baby shower cookies. A mixture of a Wilton cake from 2005 and a baby shower cake done by Aiwendil (thank you a TON for the inspiration!!) A little plain for me..but my cousin loved it!! thanks for looking!!

This cake was made for a twins 1st birthday. Babies are covered with fondant. Banner cake is covered with buttercream - writing and decoration is made of fondant.

2008 KY State Fair entry in the "Novice Novelty" category. Unfortunately, she didn't win anything. Everything is gumpaste and fondant. Stenciled letters on front and hearts on the sides. Ribbon is embossed with teddy bears. Got the idea from American Cake Decorating magazine and changed it up a little.
