This was for a customer who was throwing a 'Noah's Ark' themed baby shower. White cake, all buttercream icing. I used a 11X15 base, then the football pan upside down and a loaf pan on top of that (i carved out the roof). On the front is pigs, elephants, lions....snakes on the front deck & birds on top. Spiders on the left side of the roof & mice on the right side deck. Cows, hippos & giraffes on the back. Oh, and fish in the water (my 5 yr old son still insisted that it needed sharks in the water too)

My 4 year old loves Thomas and he loves animals, so for his birthday, we did Thomas on Safari. My first attempt at molding animals. The animals are made from rolled buttercream.

Quick cake for a child's birthday. There was a miscommunication on the pick-up time and I didn't have time to do anymore detail. I would've like to have added more animals and details to the barn. At least the customer was happy!

vanilla cake with buttercream icing. this was a large cake and VERY heavy. It was for a baby shower at a local elementary school. I had 1 day notice and the only info I had was the nursery was a farm animal theme!
It was a big hit!

This was done on a 12in base yellow cake with the cow made using the 3D lamb pan and the same yellow cake used for the base cake. I used the "durable cake for 3D...cake" recipe. All buttercream, the black frosting is chocolate bc. This was done for my sisters 17th birthday. The cake and I made a 130mile trip for delivery - made it without damage Yay! She loved the cake!

I quickly did this cake for a friend of my sister. Her new found love for horses inspired it, I am looking for different ideas on how to do the horse hair if anyone has suggestions on what tip to use.

My older daughter wanted something for her birthday like an African Safari, reminiscent of Lion King, but "more realistic". I bought a plastic animal set at Toys R Us, slapped some cakes together, and frosted them. The sand is brown sugar. Not my best work, but being that I was 8 months pregnant and miserable, not too bad.

I made this as a thank you cake for my puppy's vets. She broke her leg and they basically just charged us for supplies, even though she had to have her cast changed every week and x-rays too!! It was chocolate fudge cake with cookies and cream pudding mix added, and covered in chocolate buttercream. Her picture is an edible image, and the sprinkles on the bottom border are little doggie-bone shapes! The docs LOVED it!!

White chocolate cake with raspberry filling and vanilla butter cream icing. Everything is edible - the penguin on Antarctica, shark fins in the water, dancing bear on Russia, panda on China, elephant and giraffe on Africa, kangaroo on Australia, macaws and tree frog on South America, and the bald eagle flying over the US are all fondant. (it was my first time making figures from fondant - what fun!) "Protect our earth" sign was made from candy melts. Made for a special Earth Day dinner last night.

My first cake for my nephew's 8th birthday party. The party was at the movie theatre to see the new Disney movie "The WILD". Cake is buttercream with Fondant Animals. It was a hit at the party and now everyone wants a cake! This was my first time doing anything with fondant so I practiced with Play-Doh :-)

This was for a little girl's 1st birthday. She loves Old McDonald. Along with all my 1st birthday cakes I include a complimentary small cake for baby to tear up. In this case it was a little haystack made from a half ball pan.

This cake was made for a Bride and Groom who loves their dogs so much that they were walked down the aisle by the Maid of Honor. The Maid of Honor thought it would be cute to make dog collars interlock to symbolize wedding rings. The dog paws were just an added decoration.
