Just a side view of cake. It looked really short from the other view and all leaves. It didn't have much basketweave showing in the other picture

1/2 sheet with buttercream icing and royal icing flowers and 50 accented with gold luster dust. I airbrushed with gold luster dust on the outside of the oval and loved the effect, but you can hardly see it on the picture. Thanks to Steady2hands and pumkinroses for their tips!!

My friend snuck the original topper and center section from her parent's wedding cake out of their house for me to use on their "surprise" 50th cake. I was (unbeknownst to my friend) worried about using it because the topper had yellowed considerably and was breaking in some spots. I played around with the flowers, "fluffed" them up the best I could, tinted the icing ivory and found complimentary flowers to put inside the center section. The cake looked better in person. She was very happy with it!!

This is my first "wedding" type cake (that is actually made of cake) I was so incredibly nervous! i was pleased with the result. They also had me do 2 sheet cakes, and should have had LOTS of cake left over, but i heard people were taking a bunch home, and they ran out early! Iced in buttercream, roses and cords are gumpaste/fondant. Roses are painted with silk white pearl dust, the cords are painted with super gold luster dust.

This cupcake tower included 150 cupcakes with a 6" cake on top. Cake topper was created by Great Grand-Daughter. (She also added the odd flowers to the top - It was hard for me to tell her that it didn't match - but I was good and left it alone! LOL!!!!!)

Both cakes are yellow with raspberry filling and almond buttercream, covered with fondant. The balls/pearls are also fondant (hand-rolled - if there's an easier way could someone let me know?!) and the customer gave me the "50" to use for the top.

I made this cake for a dear friend of mine. The topper is from her wedding cake 50 years ago! Her daughter had also used it. It was challenging trying to come up with a color scheme, because they wanted to coordinate with the topper, and I could not see the topper beforehand. Darn Good Choclate cake with almond buttercream. Handmade fondant initial plaque. My first attempt at scrolls - don't look too closely! LOL!!

My mother saw the cake stand at Hobby Lobby and just had to have it for her anniversary cake. The cake is my rich white cake, 10" and 6". Covered in fondant, royal icing flowers, purchased ribbon. The bride and groom topper is their original topper - just refurbished some.

All BC. Made for very special friends' 50th anniversary party. I was originally going for an ivory on white, but my ivory turned kind of golden, which turned out fine and went well with the silk flowers and 50th theme (thanks goodness!!!)

I made this cake for a surprise 50th anniversary party. It is a replica of the couple's
wedding cake. It is done in buttercream with fondant/gumpaste roses and basket, royal
icing lattice ovals and molded sugar bells, swans, hearts and doves. I had a little trouble with
frosting bulging, but overall I was pleased with the way it turned out.

THis is the first cake I've done for a real event. It sounded like it went over well. It is a red velvet cake with all decorator's creamcheese icing.

Buttercream icing with pudding centre.
Unfortunately on the delivery over to the client's house, the lower 10" tier started "crying" it's pudding centre...
I simply fixed it on-site and told the client that it was so full of tasty goodness it couldn't keep it all in!! Everyone enjoyed the giggle.

A replica of the original wedding cake, the picture was black and white, so we had to rely on the newspaper article as to the color of roses. All buttercream with royal icing drop strings. I haven't done drop strings for quite some time, so that was a challenge! Sorry I don't have a picture with the cake top, but it really looked great with it.
