My first order after being featured in our local paper as a cake decorating enthusiast. I viewed all the Yoda cakes on this site but I was most inspired by "socake". Thanks so much for your tips! I used 6 in rounds covered in buttercream for the main body and crispy rice treats for the neck & head. The rest of Yoda is fondant. The base is a yellow cake covered with buttercream.

This person just asked for a Star Wars cake, no specific details. It took me a while to settle on a design, but I finally went with Yoda. I was pretty happy, and the person who asked me to make it was thrilled!

Yoda cake made for a little boy turning 6... Cake is covered in mmf, with chocolate clay details. Yoda is made of rice krispie treats (form when warm, use toothpicks & dowels to hold together) and covered in chocolate clay. Yoda's lightsaber is a glow stick from the dollar store which I lit when I got to the party-- it looked awesome when the lights were out to blow out the candles!! Plus, the birthday boy loooooooooved the cake!

This cake was done for Jedi Kyle. It was done with a piping gel transfer. I would suggest to anyone trying this technique to use a wider tip. I used a #4 last time and had success. This time I had a #1 tip and the gel didn't adhere to the crusted frosting as well.

Just want to say thanks to socake for such a great tutorial. I know I couldn't have pulled this off without her instructions. It's my second attempt at a sculpted cake. I'm not totally happy with it, but my sister sure is...and that's what counts. :)

Another one of those cakes orders where I can say that the design has been retired! Had difficulty transporting these and faulty support system... learning experience but I wish they had turned out better.

This is for my nephew's 5th birthday. Thanks Socake for the instructions, this would have been a disaster without them. It is 1:35 in the morning and I just finished it for the party at noon. If this wouldn't have been a free cake for a family member, I would be disappointed with it. I have several small problems with it, but I am going to bed and be happy with my first attempt at this. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

I made this cake for the 2008 wrap party of the Walt Disney World Star Wars Weekends cast members. (It was a gift...my fiance was on the team!) His head, ears, hands and feet are Cocoa Krispie Treats, the body is sculpted cake. All covered with buttercream and then I applied fondant. The eyes were hand painted with gel colors.

I had some inspiration for several other cakes in the gallery and combined throughts from 3 others to make this one cake. The logo is a buttercream image transfer. Stars are fondant but rest of cake is buttercream. Toys were used to bring it all together.

I found a tutorial online that showed how to make yoda. I stacked 8-inch round cakes-I used 5 layeres stacked with another dome shaped on top. The head I shaped out of rice crispies. All covered in fondant- the ears I made out of gumpaste so they would get hard and skewered them all the way into head.

The cake that I got this idea from is WAY better than this one, but I thought it turned out pretty cool for my first sculpted person type cake. It doesn't look a ton like Yoda, but just enough so that you know who its supposed to be.

For same co-worker's husband as last year. Very disappointed in my chocolate transfer (have done much better ones), but this was a last minute order and actually made this cake (including making icing, filling & cake) in under 3 hours! Chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream icing, oreo cookie filling.

Well this was the first yoda cake but when i came downstairs this morning, Yoda bit the dust. He fell over backwards and the robe , etc all cracked. The head was ok, a little cracked in back , but hey , Yoda is wrinkled right. The cane is tootsie rolls. I will repost the second yoda later.

This Yoda Star Wars character cake was made of rice krispy cereal and was sitting in a green swamp (which was a butter pecan cake covered in butter cream) The fingernails are sliced almonds and the clothing is MMF. A fun birthday for my 30-something son who will always love the wise Yoda.
