This was for my grandad who at 80 is still enjoying his garden. All veggies are marzipan, had lots of fun with these!!

Cake in the advanced spring category. It got 3rd. Fondant covered cake that was then sponged with royal icing to give texture. "Dirt" is dark brown sugar, all the vegetables and rocks for the path are fondant. Bunny, cow, bird on fence, sheep, ducks, and chickens are all fondant/gumpaste. The sheep was then piped with royal icing to do the "wool". The baby duck is tail-up in the pond, the bunny took a carrot out, and the chicken actually has eggs underneath it. Fun cake to do.

All BC decorations, corn stalks were toothpicks covered with BC. John Deere Tractor is a toy, of course. Made by request for my son's 8th birthday.

Done for family whose father/grandfather was turning 91. His favorite pastimes are reading the Bible(he has read it through over 40 times) and vegetable gardening. Got ideas from other book cakes on CC. TFL!

this was for a man who is planning to grow lots of veg and flowers in his garden now hes retired! All the veg, flowers and man were made with sugarpaste. Cake was madeira. filled and iced with buttercream.

My neighbor just started a garden and her husband thought this would be appropriate because she's soooo proud of it! She loved it! All fondant and gumpaste, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream! TFL!

This cake was made for my brothers friend. He is a chef at the Casa Tapas restaurant. It was a huge hit..hehe! All is edible made with MMF . The cake is the big cheese slice and where the vegetables are on. This is my 6 th fondant cake.

This house was a 10 x 14 inch cake, cut into 3 and stacked. It is covered in BC and I used the brick mold to make the brick pattern. The vegetables are made from gumpaste. On the right there's a curly black dog, but he's a bit hard to see! The basket is gumpaste, covered with basketweave in RI.

This was for my grandfather's Surprise 90th B'day party. He has a huge garden and he always says he's "fine as frog hair" hence the frog. WASC, Buttercream, Oreo crumbles, Rice crispy veggies, Twinkie Corn (jellybelly beans) and some veggies are MMF. TFL!!!

I got this idea from a cupcake book I got at Costco and from CC. Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. Bunnies are fondant. Fence is chocolate graham crakers and veggies are made from candies. Thanks for looking.

This is my version of the tv dinner cupcakes. This was also for the dessert auction...and I think 12 of them sold for $70! These were really fun to make. They were chocolate and all the peas, carrots, bones and butter are fondant. This was inspired by sue_dye and other fellow cc'ers! Thanks everyone!

I made this cake as a gift for my friend's 40th Birthday. The base cake is 12x18 vanilla with vanilla buttercream with mini chocolate chips and the house is 2 football pans that are chocolate cake with vanilla filling. Everything is edible from fondant and gum paste. This was the first time I have made characters (Gandalf) and vegetables. I think it came out good and everyone loved it. Thank you so much to everyone on CC for all their inspiration!

Marzipan tomatoes, carrots, pumpkins, eggplant, cabbage, potatoes. GP wheelbarrow. Have to tell a funny story: I made it for my mom's husband's 80th bday. My mom, coming from WWII era, is very frugal. She loved the wheelbarrow so much she thought I'd like it back to use another cake. Put it in warm soapy water and comes back...nothing left but a gooey pile of brown water. After we both stopped laughing she told me she has a new respect for our sugar mediums:-)

Made for a guy who teaches classes on how to cook in a dutch oven. 2 - 10" yellow cakes with chocolate buttercream icing, covered in chocolate MMF tinted black. Veggies are all made of fondant, beef chunks are made from tootsie rolls I microwaved and shaped, and the gravy is brown tinted piping gel. The flames are made from sugar and corn syrup that I tinted, nuked, cooled a sec and then pulled to get the shape of a flame.

This was made for my work friends, April birthday's. It was a garden scene. If you look close you can see I mixed up the beets and radishes signs. It was made from an old wilton yearbook 1992, I think. I made it at a monthly cake class. All buttercream expect the fence and signs.

This is a 2 layer, 10 inch square chocolate cake. I used BC icing and Oreo cookie crumb pie shell for the dirt. The fence, veggies and flowers are all MMF. Thanks to garden photos on this site for the great inspiration!!!

A peter rabbit cake made using the Crate and Barrell rabbit pan. Chocolate buttercream icing, with fondant accents. Piped lettuce, fondant tomatoes and carrots.

this is a cake that i saw in a british magazine couple years ago. did it my way.. fake cake, fondant covered.. vegetable made from fondant and g/p won 2nd place that year... airbbrushed basket.. ribbon made from gumpaste

I made this for Father's Day as my dad loves food as much as I do :-) The meats/veggies are all fondant/gumpaste and everything else is buttercream

The only real vegetable's are the green ones behind the cake, I added them for decoration - the rest are made of icing :). I made this cake 3 years ago for the recipient who was turning 90 - she still has the cake on display - I guess at 90 you have the right to decide if you are going to cut your own birthday cake - I am not sure how it will be holding up, it was a chocolate port mud cake!

Made for great aunt's 90th birthday. She still works her garden every day!! 50/50 figure and vegies, oreo dirt, pretzels for the fence. She loved it.
