Strawberry cake, buttercream icing. This is the last one finally lol, I only did 4 cakes for Valentines Day, but it seemed like more! This one was for a friend who wanted one for her parents.

Sugar cookies and royal icing. The red pail was for my sons teacher, the largest cookie has her name on it. And the small coffee cup we just did up for his principal with a couple extra cookies we had after making them for his class also. Both are just filled with candy hearts. His teacher was so surprised, she loved it!

I cranked these out last night for my daughter to take to school. Her teacher loved them. My husband had the idea for the two- tone. Enjoy!

This is a 25 cupcake cake for my daughter's kindergarten class. When I asked her what she wanted, she said it had to look like a heart, not one just drawn on it and had to be cupcakes but not look like cupcakes. She said, you know Mom it should look like a big heart cake. The mind of a six year old, LOL, I guess I shouldn't have given her so many options!! The cupcakes were golden vanilla with red dye added. I iced it in buttercream and used candy molds for the letters and decorations.

This was a chocolate vegan cake that a frieds asked me to bake. Spatula striping make roses and a simple border so much more interesting. It is a 6-inch heart carved from an 8 inch square. My friend's husband was thrilled because he says the thing he misses most since becoming vegan... CAKE!

A cookie bouquet made from vegan roll-out sugar cookies and decorated with a glaze icing (vegans don't eat royal because it's made from eggs)

Yeah, I know, not a lot to it, but I was in a major hurry for my little girl and her Valentine's Day party. It's simple and quick, 30 minutes to decorate. Little colored sugar on top and it's good enough for the kiddies. They didnt care, they just wanted to stuff their faces.

2nd attempt at a chocolate teddy bear. Not sure if I like the rough look in the photo, I like it better in person. Strawberry chocolate cake truffle (cake balls) covered in chocolate. Wings, arrow, bow, and roses are chocolate. I love how the wings turned out. I didn't use any fondant. This was for my DH so I wanted everything delicious.

Yellow cake with buttercream icing filled with strawberry jam. My first attempt at cornelli lace. I used a bigger tip than normal, but I think it still turned out nice.

This was my first go at a cake fully covered in Ganache. It is a chocolate chip pound cake out of the WBH book covered in Ganache - I used Milk Chocolate because that is all I had and got raves on it!

I made this at my son's request for his Valentine celebration at the YMCA after school program. It was a red velvet cake with buttercream and red Satin Ice fondant embossed using cutters. The candys were purchased. Some of the kids were afraid to eat "red cake".

How better to say "I Love You" than with a single red rose.

Vanilla cake with buttercream and rasberry filling covered in Satin Ice fondant and dusted with sugar crystals. A single red gumpaste rose (that I made) on top to say "I Love You!"

Just a practice cake. First time putting fondant on a square cake. I didn't use enough BC underneath and I didn't spend too long smoothing...I was mostly concerned with the corners. My daughter got a finger full of the back left corner...it's almost like she knows which ones she can dig her little paws in to and which ones are going to customers!

This is frosted with buttercream. The white chocolate "lacey" pieces were freehanded and painted with luster dust. I got the idea from another cake on this site and had to try it. Of course, I think their's is much better! But I had fun making it!

These are three cakes that I kind of threw together on Monday night so I would have something to bring to work on Valentines Day. The far pink one I had a little trouble with - I beat the icing on too high a speed - it was a new recipe and I learned quickly that slow is the key!

Lucious White Velvet Cake, Light Lemon Cream Cheese and Raspberry Fillings, Decorated in Buttercream frosting, and sprinkled with edible glitter. Pictured here with a few of my Valentine's Day flowers. It's not a great pic of the cake but the photo overall was impressive.

Fondant covered cake; bows & ruffling on the sides. The kissing couple are 3D bas relief figures made from fondant. The figures were built-up piece by piece and dressed with miniature fondant clothes, which were colored and shaded. The little boy's hand stands away from the cake and is holding a miniature detachable gumpaste rose bouquet for his valentine. "Be Mine" lettering, done in royal icing and painted with gold petal dust, is located at the top of the cake. The photo is not as clear as I would like.
