This was a BC iced cake swirling orange, red and yellow BC. Darth Vader is and edible image. The flames were made mixing the three colors in one bag and using tip 67.

My husband is a Star Wars freak, so this was his birthday cake one year. It was a big hit with his other SWGeek friends! ;) All BC of course.

This was really for my brother's birthday but my daughter insisted I make it for him since Star Wars is his favorite. Darth Vader is a buttercream transfer, this was my first attempt. I wish the detail was more defined but overall it came out fine. Much better than my C3P0

This picture doesn't do the cake justice. The lighting is off and DV looks like a black blob. In person, he is actually trimmed in a dark gray and you can see all his features.

I made this for my nephew's 6th birthday party. I made it just like the spiderman bust but darth vader. Head is rice krispie treats on styrofoam wig head(my husband actually shaped it for me) with a plastic mask. Iced in buttercream with chocolate fondant(colored black) for the cape and helmet.

Sculpted Darth Vader cake covered in fondant. The eyes are done with piping gel. I must say, he scares me a little bit, but that's what the birthday boy wanted :-) Thanks for looking!

I made this for my son's 5th bday
the pic does not show that the cake is as black as it really is.And i don't have a clue where all the spots came from.
used my son's Darth Vader mask for the head.
Yes the idea came from the spiderman cake but insread of using a wig head I used the doll cake pan. I thought it would be easier to add the mask on to. I never trust kids and a cake in Chuck E Cheese! LOL!
Turned out to work well. I also made a cape but you can't really see it! :(
thanks for looking!

I couldn't order the Darth Vader character pan in time, so I just carved this out of an 11x15 sheet cake. It's chocolate cake filled with chocolate mousse, iced in chocolate BC. The whole face was done with black tinted piping gel. For an 11 year old's birthday party who loves StarWars.

I did this for a little boy that loves Star Wars. 9 by 13 pan Buttercream frosting, fbct of Darth. It broke in half trying to get it on the cake. So I had some fixing to do, but I think it came out ok. Thanks for looking!

10in square vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream and strawberry preserves. Covered with strawberry-flavoured home-made fondant. Darth Vader hand-painted plaque, fondant letters, stars and number. Royal icing borders and silver balls. All black areas sprinkled with black diamond disco glitter. The birthday child chose the red & black scheme (thank heavens for Americolor lol)!

I had a request for the same Darth Vader cake and I hate to do 2 cakes the exact same way, so I decided to try a fire technique around this Darth Vader, and it turned out really cool!

I did this cake for someone at work. Her son turned 5 and LOVES Star Wars. Thanks to Christy's Cakes for inspiration. It's 6&9 in cakes with bc and fondant accents. The Darth Vader on top is a toy. My fondant attempt went kaput.

Inspired by a cake on CC, this is all BC and I free-handed the image with a toothpick before filling in with the BC.

This was done in white buttercream and sprayed red and orange for a "firey" look. The head was actually a seperate cake on top of the sheet cake.

For my son's 5th birthday. The mask is a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mix. I molded it onto the toy mask he has. It couldn't dry completely, so it cracked while I was taking it off. The icing is sprayed red & grey using the Wilton spray colors.

I did the Darth Vader free hand on this cake, after printing out numerous coloring book pages of him to find a good and easy design to follow. It took a while, but it was worth it, my husband loved it for his birthday last summer. The inside is yellow and white checkerboard cake, three layers with lemon filling!

I made this cake for Maddie's twin brother. I just love when people give me free reign to create their cakes! Both Darth Vader's are made from melted chocolate. The bottom cake was not as dark in person, and actually had silver luster dust on it and looked like stars. :-)

Made this for an 11yo boy who really likes Darth Vader. My husband insisted that I incorporate the Death Star Ship. I had a different vision in my head for this, but it turned out alright. Tim was happy with it, and I guess that's what matters.
