Cake for my nephew's 5th birthday. Chocolate buttercream frosting; one vanilla and one chocolate cake (1/4 sheet & 8 inch round). Flames were inspired by another cake in the gallery (thank you!) & were done using a star tip.

Made this for a little guy's birthday yesterday...humidity here caused a few issues with Darth legs!! Anyhow, it was chocolate buttermilk cake with chocolate SMBC filling and fondant to cover. I like the contrasting colours and the little guy seemed happy with it so that's great!!

This is a sculpted Star Wars themed, Darth Vader cake. It was white cake with a buttercream filling. I sculpted it after I stacked the cake, then inserted dowels, then frosted in buttercream. It's covered in fondant and "glazed" with water to give it a shiny look. (I used black store bought Satin Ice for the fondant and white painted with silver lusted dust for the "metal" parts.)

Buttercream frosted cakes with rice treat for potatoe covered with fondant. Fondant eyes, hat, face shield, arms, light saber. All the pieces could detach just like real potatoe head. I only had 1 and 1/2 days notice to make this cake or I would have done more with the cake itself.....but I had to hurry.

I made this for my husbands birthday, very happy with the way it turned out. WASC both cakes with Buttercream and MMF accents. Lemon filled. I couldnt find my ball pan, so had to compromise, I think the Death Star is getting squashed a bit. I bought Darth and Luke at Wal-Mart.

Thanks to BakingGirl for instructions...her's is WAY better though!! This was my first real 3D and the first one I totally covered in fondant. I planned not to eat it (made cupcakes for everyone!) so that we all didn't have black teeth. :-) It was for my son's 5th bday, he loved it and that's good enough for me.

This was made for a little boy turning 5. This cake was carved from an 11x15 sheet cake and star tipped (even on the sides), per customer request. Talk about a tired hand/wrist.

This cake was made by me for my son Joey's 6th birthday. I used the Wilton Darth Vader pan. It's a chocolate cake with raspberry Jell-O poured on it. The frosting is chocolate pudding, milk, and Lite CoolWhip with some black food coloring mixed in. I poured the CoolWhip frosting on, smoothed it out, and used black Wilton can frosting for the outline and chocolate sprinkles and clear sugar sprinkles for the rest of the decoration.
