This was my first attempt at a Topsy Turvey Cake. I should have made it taller. Actually, this is my first cake time using fondant. Love to know what you think!

All of the brown was Chocolate MMF. The topper is also cake shaped like a "Hershey's Kiss" and covered with fondant. The 'foil' is molded fondant that was very carefully airbrushed silver.

This cake is a Disney/Minnie Mouse themed topsy turvey cake. The minnie mouse was made in advance and is styrofoam covered in fondant. I hand sculpted the face on a ball of styrofoam then covered it in fondant. I transported the cake without the top to get it there safely then assembled. It was not an easy cake to do and I learned alot from this experience.

This is my first topsy turvey cake. I tried to mimic the circle colorful cake always seen here on CC on the most popular row!! Much more difficult than it appears. It was for the director of our Handbell Choir -- we surprised her with it at practice and she cried with happiness! Thanks for looking.

One of my favorites! Thanks to Jkalman and others on CC that helped me with this one! Taupe fondant airbrushed with a gold sheen, fondant ribbon, silk leaves and a real tree trunk courtesy of a tree on our property!

Be gentle, this was my first ever wedding cake, and my first four tier cake, and my first topsy-turvy cake. My best friend married my husband's brother in a gorgeous outside wedding on Oct. 18th. She wanted a topsy-turvy with fall leaves. Leaves are gumpaste. Cake is fondant, and foam wedges are wrapped in fondant. The ribbon at the base of the foam wedges is real at the bride's request. This design was inspired by a cake by CCer veragatafera.

Here is the cake I made for my mom. It's my 2nd TT cake (the first was a trial and went horribly wrong!) and I got the idea from Edna's. i was pretty pleased, though I can see some things to improve on next time. :) TFL

All mmf. Masks were first painted with gold dust, then decorated using royal icing. To get a good sparkle, I used 'Disco Dust." After several attempts to make feathers from gumpaste and fondant, I gave up and bought some real feathers.

My first attempt at a topsy turvey cake, my buttercream had so many air bubbles! ugh! Bottom tier chocolate cake top tier confetti cake frosted in vanilla butter cream and decorated in mmf cutouts. should I have trimed the cake to be tapered from top to base on each tier? I would appreciate any feedback you may have. TFL!

bottom layers were not thick enough and so it looks squatty. also, i used dowel rods, but the upper cake compressed the bottom cake and wrinkled my fondant. was very concerned about transportation to the shower, but once it is out of my hands, it is out of my hands!

I was trying my first topsy cake. WOW...I learned tons. I realize I cut my angles too severe but I did have fun with this challenge. I was originally making this to take to a birthday celebration for 3 people in our family. Well, with other orders I didn't get it done in time so ....no cake at the party - the rsteraunt took care of the bithday boys though. I came home and played around with it later that night. This is not my original design but I was just playing and I ran out of fondant for certain colors so just used butter cream to finish it up. It could have been better...but like I said ...just playing. LOL! Top tier strawberry, 2nd tier dark chocolate, 3rd tier white cake. Covered with butter cream and some fondant accents. Used witon's hidden pillars - love them! Now to find someone who wants lots of cake. LOL May take it the firestation...those boys are always hungry. LOL LOL!!! TFL and advice would be great!

This is my third attempt at a topsey turvey cake. I had a really hard time working with MMF. I must have done something wrong beacause it was very tempermental and hard to work with. I'm just glad that this cake is finished. The top tier is yellow cake with chocolate ganache BC. The next tier is chocolate fudge cake with amaretto mocha BC. The last tier is chocolate cake cheesecake with cream cheease BC and chocolate ganache BC. All tiers are three layers tall dusted with pearl luster dust and done for my TWIN BOYS 1st birthday. There are several great tutorials on here for topsey turveys and I appreciate them all. TFL.

Being wanting to try this style of topsy turvey for sometime. I must say this is way easier than the cut the whole in the center of the cake method. All buttercream with tissue in between the layers. I used styrofoam cut into a slant to give it the topsy turvey look.
