i made the mistake of asking what cake my niece wanted for her birthday....a tangled tower cake- this was the scariest and most time consuming cake ive ever made-and was a little rushed at the end so was disappointed with some aspects- but her face was a picture when she saw it- i had to get a london cab though to deliver it as it was over 3ft tall and didnt fit in my car!!

One of the most enjoyable cakes I have ever been asked to do. I loved every part of creating this cake, and seeing the reaction from the birthday girl reminded me why I love this so much!!

Inspired by many Rapunzel cakes here on cc. Tangled themed Rapunzel cake. 10" chocolate fudge with hazelnut chocolate bc ... tastes like ferrero rocher!! My new favourite flavour combination!! DH helped me with the structure of the tower, all made from rice krispie and gumpaste.

This cake was a learning experience! After the first tower collapsed, I realized how important it was to have a very strong support! I used pvc pic, packed with rice krispy, then dow rodded through the rice kispy into the base cake. I then dow rodded the base of the tower into the cake. Entire tower is rice krispy treat, base is cake. All covered in fondant. Vines are buttercream icing and flowers are royal icing

Made this for my daughters 5th birthday. White cake covered in BC. Tower is PVC pipe(because the top was to heavy for RKT to support), top is RKT covered in fondant, piping gel for river, and fondant rocks.

16" tall made from madeira cake.
Top section had a stailess steel support in it to hold the top cake making the tower top. The conical roof was made from rice krispies.
Hand cut roof tiles individually applied and all airbrushed to finish.

Thank you amyvanderhaag for the GREAT inspiration. I LOVE CC!
The bottom layers are made of chocolate cake and buttercream. The tower is made from RKT, a plastic cup, and the top of a 20 oz plastic bottle all covered in buttercream. I had the 8" cake on a board with plastic supports in it to hold the tower. While I was putting it together at the birthday party, but husband suggests I put wooden dowels in the tower to go in the plastic supports so it's sturdier. Now he tells me! It was okay when I left. Hopefully it didn't fall.

Thanks to all the cakes on here that I looked at for HOURS! I finally just came up with this one after looking and looking for a do-able tower. It was tricky, but after we figured out a stable base for the tower it went together just fine. The tower is krispie treat and the top is cake and fondant covered ice cream cones. I only use homemade MMF and the brown trim is homemade modeling chocolate.
