The big fish tale for Jack's 72nd birthday. The fisherman and boat are made of fondant. The fish is shaped out of RKT, is covered in white fondant and then painted with food color. Shimmer dust helped to keep the fish looking wet. The remainder of the cake is covered in buttercream frosting.

2 16 inch squares for bottom layers and 10 in rounds for top. I used the Wilton castle set. The cones were covered in royal icing then quickly rolled in pink sprinkles. Cakes are covered in buttercream. This was my first castle cake and I wish the castle set was easier to work with. I think the towers should have been made to sink into the cake so it would be easier to make them stand up straight. Can I have an "Amen"!

This was for my son's birthday. He loves VeggieTales. The cake was inspired by a cake here on CC done by PennieK. All figures were done with MM fondant w/ tylose.

This is a veggie tales cake that I made for my little girl's third birthday. Idea taken from simplysmashing's veggie tales cake. The bottom tier is butter and chocolate cake layers, alternated in 1 inch layers filled with chocolate chip cookie dough and iced with buttercream under fondant. The top tier is dark chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache under the fondant. Figures are fondant.

My daughter loves the movie, Tangled. We had her party at a stable, so I used Maximus the horse to tie the two themes together.

This is a cake I created for a friend of mine's friend's daughter. She loved the Disney movie Tangled, and I was really inspired by the beautiful tower that she was kept in. This is the most detailed and time consuming cake I've done so far. The cake is supported by metal pipe on a heavy wooden base, connected with flanges. The pipe is covered in cereal treats, then covered in modeling chocolate. The cake is chocolate with chocolate frosting, wrapped in fondant. The roof is molded cereal treats covered in fondant. I stamped out hundreds of tiny tiles out of fondant, and most of the decorations are a fondant/gum paste mixture. I then painted it all with edible paints and added greenery with colored icing. This cake was super challenging, and I'm so glad it's finished!

My daughter's second castle cake turned out significantly better than my first attempt. I loved making this one and am thrilled with the additional details in the landscape.

This cake was made after the mother to be presented me with her baby bedding, Carter's Tall Tales. She wanted the cake to resemble the bedding, so this is how it turned out!

My friend's daughter is turning four today, and desperately wanted a Rapunzel cake. She requested strawberry and chocolate cake, so the tower is made out of strawberry cake (4" diameter rounds), and the hill is made of chocolate (a 12" and 10" round stacked and carved). Fondant covered with gumpaste accents. I made the green fondant a little too dry and it cracked, but luckily, my busy designs cover up a lot of sins and distract from those still visible. ;-)

It's 35" from top to bottom. The base of the tower is a cardboard poster tube, the bottom and middle sections of the upper part are styrofoam, foamcore and a cardboard cone, tapered for some shape with Rice Krispie treats. Decorated with GP/MMF

5th Birthday cake. Vanilla cake with orange buttercream filling. Had a great time making this cake, but delivering it...not so much. The venue was at Monkey Joe's party center (picture a thousand screaming children in one place and you'll have the idea).

This cake was for a baby shower that had a storybook theme. I wanted it to look like the castle was popping right out of the pages of a book. The "page" was hand painted with gel coloring. The cake is covered in buttercream and has fondant accents. The baby was hand sculpted from fondant. I was so pleased with the way he came out... he sort of looks like the New Year's baby. :) The castle is actually cake dummies and I also used the Wilton castle kit for the towers.

I made this cake for my daughter's 5th birthday. She loved it and I enjoyed making it for her. It was a French Vanilla cake with fresh strawberries between the layers. Frosted with whipped vanilla frosting. It is entirely edible except for the pictures of the princesses. The towers are made of ice cream cones and coated in melted chocolates. The door is strawberry wafer cookies. The grass is dyed coconut and the pathway is edible pearls.
