WASC cake with dulce de leche filling and MMF decorations. This was my first attempt at making a figurine. By the time I made it to work she started to slump to the side. :o( But everyone thought I had done it on purpose because that is how the person who I had made the cake for actually sits...so it all worked out in the end! :o) Thanks for looking!

I made this as a going away cake for my coworker who was moving from NYC to Washington state. It is a frosted with hazelnut buttercream with fondant accents. I attached printed images to fondant for the postcards and used a decorator comb to give the cake some texture. This was my first try at making a 3D cake and I really enjoyed it.

I made this cake for a friend at work, who just semi-retired. The travel stickers are for places that her kids have moved to & she'll be traveling to visit them. Sorry that the pic isn't better, my camera is getting feeble in it's old age. LOL. I had a lot of fun making this one.

Made this for a co-worker who's taking an "old world vacation". Learned alot with the first one - second one should be easier. The end result was that she went gaga over the cake and refused to cut it until everyone around her was craving cake!

I made this for my husband's work...to save money they are having a "goodbye" and "hello" party for FIVE employees who are both leaving the department and entering the department. There are 5 "stickers" on the cake with the name of each person saying hello or goodbye in different languages. All MMF.

I had a left over 1/4 sheet cake and wasn't sure what to do with it. I actually stacked it, before I figured out it was going to be an old suitcase. Since I've only done one other cake, it took me a couple of days to figure out exactly how I wanted it. The cake is 3 stacked tiers, covered in fondant and painted with gel paste (mixed with a couple of drops of vodka). The handle closures are made to look like worn leather and painted with gold glaze.

This couple were married in Mexico and had a reception back home in Scotland. I loved this bride's dress. The silver colour or the sparkle doesn't show up well in a photo. I'd like to do the suitcases again but use gold as opposed to silver for a bolder highlight on the handles and buckles.
