The couple had such beautiful shades of pinks and greens for their wedding that I wanted to showcase that subtlely on their cake. Found a cake design online (I will try to find out the designer to credit them!!) that used this technique on fondant with royal icing, so we copied that look on buttercream instead.

Looks pretty good huh? Well this was after working on it for countless hours and before moving it. I thought I would save some time and put it together at home. (I had done it before and everything went fine!!) Lesson learned! After all was said and done it turned out to be two layers shorter! Luckily the bride wasn't mad!! I was very fortunate for that.

I was inspired by pics from this site on this one. Cake is covered entirely in mmf with mmf accents. Crown is gumpaste with hard tack candy jewels. I would have made the letters on the bottom tier stand out more clearly if I had it to do over. Otherwise...fun cake. It weighed about 60 pounds I think!

Thank you cake for a group of volunteers. Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse and white chocolate baker's buttercream on the outside. Decorations were done with candy clay. I'd like to thank didi5 for her inspiration. It's no where near as good as her's, but I still liked how it came out.

First attempt at doing a present cake. 8" square, five layers. I didn't let it settle long enough before I covered it with the fondant so it sagged a little. Oh well, live and learn. It was a last minute request for my sisters last minute Bday surprise party. I had another cake due on the same day (pregnant shower cake). It was my first time having 2 cakes due the same day. Everyone loved it, and that's all I wanted!

This was based on Antonia74's beautiful Stripes and Dot cake. I made it for my SIL bridal shower as a practice run for her wedding cake. The banana and chocolate cakes were covered in MMF and were my first attempt at a non-buttercream cake. I had a tough time getting the MMF smooth and rolling it thin enough. I did not use any dowels for support and was hoping it would not sink before it was cut:)

Done for a woman my mom works for. Her mom's birthday is on the 4th (so is my moms!) All buttercream. Don't really care for the top border, but I had planned to put fondant stars in each circle on the border, then decided it would just be too much.

I did this cake for a sweet 16 birthday party. My first topsy-turvy cake. I was TERRIFIED something was going to happen to it, like it was going to collapse once I left the party, but it didn't! I have learned several lessons for next time though (like put my borders on at the site). Bottom tier was chocolate cake with oreo filling, middle tier was yellow cake with dark chocolate raspberry ganache filling, top tier was yellow cake with lemon filling.

This bride was fun! I also did Wedding Cake Cookies to match, but forgot to photograph them...doh!

Using the amazing colours of her off-beat wedding, I did irregular fondant stripes and fashioned a "tropical fern"-look for the top tier with a cookie cutter shaped like a sun.

Didn't quite turn out how I wanted. I tried to create an old world effect on the sheet cake but I think I went overboard with the antiquing! Well, I have never made a WHOLE sheet cake before. The thing was huge!!! Yikesabee! Covered in fondant with luster dust galore! LOL

This was a co-creation with my cake buddy for our friend's wedding. She baked then we decorated all weekend. There was much drama, but it all worked out in the end.

Client provided invitation, so used those colors, but otherwise was left to create freely, they only requested chocolate cake with white frosting. Triple chocolate cake with ganache filling, BC icing, fondant accents, molded chocolate baby bottles and teddy bears. Fun to make for a first baby shower cake! (Only 3rd paid order, am loving this!!!) Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for a restaurant in our area. They were having a party to celebrate 300 days without any accidents. It's white cake with raspberry filling. The logo was done with a FBCT.

I wanted to do something fantastic and new for the 4th and found some variations of this cake. I had never worked with layers before and made this one six layers high! It has a multicolored inside (see other picture). The stars and stripes are AirHeads. They are very difficult to mold into stars. It worked barely with a combination of heating them, beating them and cursing at them lol. The little candy stars I found in a superman candy dispenser and the rim of the hat is just an cardboard circle with icing.
