One of my grandson's requested an "Element" cake. Had to do some research, but found out that Element is the name of a company that makes skateboards and clothes. The pattern on this cake was taken from one of their T-shirts. Cake is chocolate w/buttercream icing and fondant striping.

This was the biggest rush job I have ever done. The mother called at 3:00 to ask if she could pick the cake up at 6:00 that evening instead of the next afternoon! It turned out ok, but I was planning on a lot more detail. Still, she was very happy with it.

My first layered, stacked cake. First time to do anything with fondant. And first time to do chocolate transfers. I'm happy with it even though it isn't anywhere near perfect. Someday I'll get the courage to cover a cake in fondant. Oh, it is DD#1 4th birthday cake. Hope she likes it when she gets up tomorrow.

This is a complete picture of all the cakes (the photo of just the main cake is posted as Whimsical Daisy cake). Each one was a different cake flavor and filling. All the decorations were done with MMF.

This cake was made to go along with an Elmo themed party. The mother had an elmo cake topper to go on it. This was inspired by another Elmo cake I saw on CC.

This cake is the compilation of lots of pics I saw on CC. Not sure where I was going with this one, but just thought I'd try to play around with mmf and see what happens. My daughter's buddy is having a b-day sleepover tomorrow, I guess I'll send it with her. Thanks for looking!

I made this for a 10 yo, who loves polka dots. The invitation to her party is next to the cake for inspiration. I used MMF to cover the cake, then colored it pink, green, lt pink, & used chocolate plastic for the brown. My dh helped roll all the little balls for the borders, as I was running late!

Made a two tier for daughters 2nd birthday. My second cake. Two tiers, each with 3 layers of cake. Fondant covered, fondant bow, stripes and polka dots. Chocolate flowers. I used just boxed Pillsbury cake, which tasted great.. but horrible to work with. Everything else was easy to work with, all though i wish I could have gotten the colored fondant thinner... a little more difficult to thin out.

This was for a surprise 40th birthday luncheon and is an adaptation of a cake from the Wilton 2007 yearbook - theirs is all fondant, mine is all buttercream except for the fondant bow. I had to decorate this cake using a flashlight - the power was out for hours........

5-7-9 inch rounds. The ceramic Tweety 'topper' was too heavy and fragile, so I made the birdcage out of white chocolate and painted with gold highlighter dust mixed with cocoa butter. Real feathers inside.

This was for my cousin's 15th b-day. The tiers are 4, 6 , and 8" in addition to the dress. It was made with the mini wonder pan. The dress itself was made with marshmellow fondant as well as all the other little details. She had come to visit my family and I from Costa Rica; and it was the first time meeting her, so I was really glad I could make her something she could really enjoy!

Friend's 8 year old wanted a "singing" cake with lime, purple and orange stripes. ?? This is what I came up with....not particularly happy with it as I haven't quite perfected the topsy-turvy thing, but she loved it. Buttercream with chocolate accents and chocolate "CD" on top.

I made this for a good friend whose favorite colors are pink and brown. The bottom tier is strawberry cake and the top is blueberry. Both are sliced in four layers and filled with cream cheese filling. The cake is iced in BC and the accents are fondant with the exception of the gift tag which is gumpaste. This was sooo much fun but really took a lot of time! Thanks to wcgirl for the inspiration. I need to practice stacked cakes in preparation for my GrandMIL's 100th birthday next month!!!

My best friend to married in the fall and had fall colors for the wedding. She wanted something totally away from the colors of the wedding for her bachlorette shower. So I went with pink, black and white with everything, including the cake. I notice now from the picture that my borders sure weren't straight. . .

Covered in fondant with chocolate BC rose, fondant flower and non-edible ribbon. Not thrilled with the blue flower but felt like it needed a little color.

This is a 3 layer 7" square cake in all buttercream with MMF accents. The bottom of the box is 2 layers of DH Devil's Food cake with extender recipe and 1/4 cup Dutch Processed Cocoa added. The top of the box is 1 layer of Pillsbury Strawberry Cake straight from the box. The top is on a cut-to-size cake board covered in contact paper and frosted in buttercream. I did use some straws as dowels just in case. This cake was FUN FUN FUN!!!
