This is my first *character* cake - I have a lot of room to grow! lol....

This was for a co-worker's ten year old daughter's birthday. She is in love with Bratz - being a new mom, I hadn't even heard of them. I have a lot of room to grow there too! lol...

The cake is french vanilla iced in cherry buttercream, with fondant stars, character and finishing balls. I used a picture I downloaded from the net for the inspiration for the doll.

Thanks for looking!

I did the ever so popular Wilton Rainbow Cake for my Wilton Course I. This was just a practice cake. I'm sure at some point, everyone will make this cake if you take the Wilton Course. I hope I did an ok job!

I made this for my little sister's Sweet 16 - her theme was "Pretty in Pink!" It's chocolate cake with cookies & cream filling (from Whimsical Bakehouse). It's iced in BC with BC accents & MMF balls covered in pearl sheer dust. I also homemade the topper (her initial). It's my favorite cake I've made yet - so much fun!

1/2 yellow sheet cake buttercream frosting.

Unfortunately you cannot really see the detail on Vader in this picture. I learned a lot from this cake! Like 'corners'.

This was a last minute request from a lady that wanted volcanos from Star Wars on it. I hadn't seen the movie, so I wasn't really sure what I was doing. Never made volcanos before! Kinda tacky. But, oh well. It tasted great, though!:)

This was for my godchild and niece. The invitation was her picture as an angel. Not happy with how the face turned out but I love the overall effect. This was the first time I created my own stencil and the first time I airbrushed on fondant. The board is covered with thinned royal icing.

I made this for my best friend's son. She gave me the plate and invite and gave me free reign to do whatever. I love it when people do that!! This was my first time making the little bear, glad I did a practice one first, as his head fell off the practice version! LOL

These chocolates (yes chocolate) :) were all hand made by me. They are also flavored! Butter rum, vanilla butter nut, coconut, and mint to name a few. It is eatable art! People can't believe that they are eatable and that they are chocolate. Most people think they are REAL shells! You can see some of the other shells I have been making on my website www.danasflowers.net Enjoy!

Made out of one 13x9 pan, I traced the face of a photo of Darth Vader, enlarged it on the photocopier until fit the width of the cake, and cut the mask to size. After base frosting the mask with Wilton chocolate buttercream frosting, I took the traced paper and applied piping gel to outline the details of the face, then used the star and round tips to decorate.

The 'marquee" board was made from the bottom of the 13x9 cake.

This is the third time I have made this type of decorated cookie, and the first time I have made it into a basket. Made other cookies but these are the ones that turned out nice enough to give away. The first two attempts at making the glaze I about quit it was so frustrating, but I think I am getting it finally. haha.
