loved making this one! My very first spongebob... he is 3-D and made of cake covered in fondant and all fondant decorations on him; cake is iced and decorated in BC; lots of ideas from this site inspired me for this one!

This is my first stacked cake. I wish I stacked the top tier the opposite way, but lesson learned. This was a birthday cake I made for 1yo Deondre (friend of a friend of my sister.) It's all edible except for a few toothpicks keeping the parts togther. Spongebob is made of rice crispy treats. I used licorice for Plankton's antenae. =)

This was my first character cake for Aidan's 5th birthday. He was allergic to chocolate, but wanted his friends to have some. So, spongebob is chocolate; the green & blue balloons are butter cake, and the red one is strawberry. All the icing is tinted vanilla buttercream. It took forever, but I think he turned out okay...

This was actually a very last minute cake done for my nephew, it wasn't till the night before that my SIL decided to cut a cake for my nephew on his bday (they'd had a duo party with my other nephew the week before). I had a wedding to go to the same day and somehow was able to ice and decorate in under 3 hrs.. fastest i've ever done. It was vanilla pound cake with vanilla buttercream filling covered in fondant. I got lucky my brother drew the background and covered it with contact paper for me.

The cake is two layers iced in buttercream. The shells are molded chocolate. The algae are made of buttercream. I used crushed graham crackers for sand. Patrick is made of homemade chocolate clay with buttercream detail. It may look like Patrick is sitting in an easy chair, but that's Spongebob at his back!

Had a request for Spongebob driving a 'vette. Would have liked to do more for the cake but I ran out of time and energy, plus I didn't quote a high enough price so I just drew some bikini bottom background flowers and called it a night.

I made this for my son's 7th birthday. If I were going to make this again, I'd make the base cake a size bigger. I almost didn't have enough room for the three houses on top.

This is a sheet cake that I have embellished to look like Spongebob. I first removed some of the cake to make him look sponge-like, then covered him in MMF. The clothes, arms, legs, nose and face are MMF as well, with some BC outlines.

This is the first Spongebob cake that I've done. It's an 11x15 sheet cake trimmed to the body shape. Arms and Legs are plastic dowel rods covered with colored fondant. Shoes are made from shaped foil to look like shoes then covered in fondant. Body is all buttercream. Crabby Patties are scrap pieces of cake that was cut with a circle cutter. Lettuce and ketchup are buttercream. This was such a fun cake to do. Thanks for looking.

I did this with buttercream icing and chocolate icing, fondant eyes, teeth and tie. I couldn't come up with anyway to make arms and legs that I didn't think looked stupid and unproportioned! They loved him anyway!
