3rd time doing one of these & this one was the most challenging. Couldn't roll the fondant out large enough plus it broke so I had to piece it together at the bottom. Was doing another cake at same time for child with egg allergys so I couldn't make figures out of RI. I like the was these toys looked though. The worst part was when the candy melt leaves and flowers melted in my car on the way to the party! I did a few quick repairs and they still loved it! This is the before picture...lol.

I found a good picture online of Spongebob and used clear piping gel to trace it on top of cake. The icing is all BC with some gel accents. I also used some yellow glitter. The wind caught the tablecloth and drug some of the gel off, so it is not as pretty as when it was just finished.

This is a cake that I did for my nephew for his 4th birthday. I did the houses of Patrick, Squidward and Spongebob. All are made of pound cake and covered in buttercream. The seaweed and "leaves" on the pineapple are made from green candy melts and the "sand" is graham cracker crumbs. To make things more interesting, we had to transport this one more than 2 hours and luckily nothing fell over.

3 layer cake. Bc covered. MMF characters.I liked the characters pretty good, but should have made double layers for the cake, it wasn't tall enough, Patrick had to go in the back where it was taller. Anyway, my niece really liked it, thats all that counts. And I will know better for next time.

This cake was for my girlfriends son who turned 7 over the weekend. The pineapple is two small round cakes with a mini wonder mold on top, covered with MMF. The leaves on top are also MMF. Edible images because I was too chicken to do chocolate transfers! Maybe next time when I'm feeling more brave and have more time:-)

I thought of this concept for my 2nd cousin's 3rd birthday. It's all made out of buttercream icing & done by hand. I did all the jellyfish individually with buttercream icing as well. It took me 3-4 days.

This is a spongebob themed under the sea cake... actually the only thing spongebob about it is the candle topper. The top section is white with bavarian filling and the bottome is chocolate with chocolate bavarian filling. Thanks for everyones help on this and the ideas I got off of the site, all invaluable to me :)

This was for my granddaughter's 7th birthday. I made 7 mini cake "sponges" to hold the candles. She had a hard time blowing them out. Sponge Bob's teeth are chewing gum chicklets and his belt is made with twizzlers pieces. All buttercream icing.

Cake for family member. Not how I wanted it to turn out. I wanted the SB face to stand up but of course that only lasted for about 15 minutes so I just laid it flat. At least this forced me to put the message on the sides of the cake, something I've always wanted to try but too scared to do. 10" single layer torted and filled and two 8" filled, buttercream icing.

This is my first cupcake cake (and second FBCT). I guess I should have planned the background color of my FBCT better, but oh well! Anyone have any tips on how to get the FBCT smoother (no lines)? I can't seem to get it right.

Although Sponge Bon is not a favorite of mine, this cakes was so much fun! I made one round and two square ten inch cakes, then carved them into letters. I used color mists over the buttercream and gel transfers for my character patterns. Unfortunately, I took this picture after the birthday boy rearranged Sponge Bob's smile!
