This is a chocolate cake, with chocolate and raseberry filling...topped with chocolate frosting and covered in fondant. All details are fondant. I used plastic figurings since I was short on time, and used brown sugar for the sand look. Everyone said it was yummy, and my nephew loved it! He's a HUGE Spongebob fan!

Wow! These are bad, but it was my first try. It is so much easier to draw a Spongebob face on paper. I was considering doing these for favors for my son's upcoming b-day. I just don't know now. I guess if I practice them a few more times first, they would get better. My son loves them though. That's really all that matters. Maybe I'll get some food color markers.

This was a birthday cake for my bestfriends 2 year old daughter who is in love with spongebob. This was also my first fbct and as you can see it is really thick and raised above the cake and the colors started to bleed and it was not really smooth. Thankfully they did not really notice these things and loved it. I learn something new with every cake.

and here's my daughter's bday party cake. i got the whole idea from M&M's bright ideas site. i just put sugar cookies with color-flow spongebob and patrick on top. those were a pain to make (now i know, i don't like making colorflow cookies) but the losers (all the rest that didn't get picked to be the toppers) were great consolation prizes for the games at the party. the cake actually slid to one side (the back of the cake) coz i didn't let it cool enough before icing. yikes! good it didn't go all the way

This was for a co-workers 17th b-day. He is covered and surrounded by MMF and toasted cake crumbs for sand. I thought this was and origianal idea till i was looking at the galleries for a patrick cake and saw several similar cakes.

This was my first FBCT. It fell apart when I tried to transfer it to the cake and you can see the lines from when I filled it in. Hopefully next one will be better.

This cake is for a Nickelodeon themed birthday party. The characters are cut out of wrapping paper (mostly), covered in contact paper, and stuck to the cake. I originally had some fondant shapes stuck to the cake, but took them off because I didn't like it. I know I could have done better but time ran out!

Milk Chocolate cupcakes. Spongebob is an Edible Image. Since Spongebob had a blue background, I airbrushed the icing blue and added some blue sprinkles over the border.

I wish I would have gotten a better pic of this cake, but didn't think it as important as it seems now. I wasn't into cake decorating quite yet, this was one of my firsts, in 2004, for my son's 4th birthday. The cake is completely decorated with buttercream other than the blue of the eyes was cut from airheads candy. The nose was made days in advance of candy clay and left to dry.

This is my first stacked cake. It was a challenge. It was also my first layered/torted cake. Bottom tier is chocolate w/BC filling. Middle tier is white cake w/BC filling. The top tier and the pineapple are krispie treats. All iced in BC. The characters are royal icing transfers.

I had lots of problems w/this one, but it was a learning experience. All of the kids at my son's b-day party loved it. One of the mom's even said she would call for her next party
