Surprise 40th birthday party. Everything is fondant. I (ok, my DH) used a clay gun for the pasta. I used a cheese shredder to shred fondant then balled it up to look like meatballs. Sauce is fondant rolled very thin. Chianti bottle is a styrofoam ball with a cake support for the neck covered in fondant. Napkin is gumpaste as are the spoon and fork.

PANTRY SHOWER CAKE
White velvet cake with swiss meringue buttercream - chef is constructed from cake cones, and MMF.....cake is covered in MMF and sp&meatballs are also MMF. I know....the back of the chef ended up more sloppy than I wanted him to be - was originally planning on him to be closer to the cake so you couldn't see his back.....also, the actual cake didn't really do well with the frosting, so I wasn't able to get is as smooth as I like.
THANKS FOR LOOKING - ALL COMMENTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Made this fun fake-out cake for a birthday. Buttercream noodles, chocolate hazelnut candies for meatballs and thinned raspberry buttercream for the sauce. I had so much fun that I created the kid's meal size too (a.k.a. cupcakes - ha ha!) I'll post a picture of them next.

This was fun! My coworkers got such a kick out of these. It's Pina colada cake with pineapple/coconut icing, strawberry preserves for "tomato sauce" and ferro roche chocolates cut in half for the "meatball".

This was from the book Hello Cupcake. the only thing different was 3 drops of yellow food coloring didnt do squat. i got out my wilton colors and needed a few good swipes. No flash on the camera or it washed out the color. It looked pretty real!
my only issue: the preserves made the spaghetti break in areas that didnt touch. I shoulda waited longer for it to dry.

A couple of people tried to move it down to the entree part of the pot luck table lol! I wasn't entirely happy with the sauce color, it was perfect the night before but darkened up, I forgot to take that into account.

In 1955 Disney introduced a generation to a love story that is still going strong today over 50 years later. I couldnt help but think of this scene when I thought of a romantic cake. Lady and Tramp are both rice crispy cake covered in MMF, the table is chocolate chip-chocolate cake with peanut butter fluff filling. Spaghetti, wine bottle, breadsticks and cup are all fondant and gumpaste. Everything is edible and hand made on this cake except for the tiny candle.

Here's my first try at this kind of cake. I like how it turned out - I used seedless red raspberry jam with some peach/yellow coloring for the sauce, Rocher chocolates for the meatballs and angel food cake for the bread. I also shaved white chocolate melts for the cheese and used basil on the bread for some green color. Also thanks to fiddlesticks for answering some questions I aksed quite some time ago! Thanks for looking!

This cake was done for a guy at work who loves to eat. So I put a figure in the spaghetti as if he was eating his way out. to be fun. I think it turned out great was fairly easy to put this one together.

i baked the cake in this casserole pan, then used buttercream for the spaghetti. the meatballs are purchased chocolate candies that have a bumpy texture. i thinned strawberry jam to pour over the meatballs for the sauce, and grated white chocolate for the cheese. thanks to other members here for the idea.

I got this idea off of this website for my husband's 30th birthday party. We celebrated at Buca di Beppo and this was perfect! I did a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese piped icing on the top. I made the "meatballs" with chocolate donut holes and warmed raspberry jam!

white cake with a nutella buttercream filling, with buttercream for the spaghetti. Meatballs are Ferraro Rocher cany and sauce is Rasberry Jam with 1/4 tsp cocoa. In the future, I will bake the cake in a baking tin and just decorate the top as the spaghetti kept falling off the sides. Also, I would cluster the "meatballs" in the center of the cake instead of just dropping them radnomly...I think it would look better.
