Given a few details as to what the customer was looking for, and I came up with this. First did the moon and footprint fbct and then a seperate fbct for the rocket. I've already been corrected that it should have said "One *small* step for man..." but then again, it was 2am, and I'm surprised I spelt *Birthday* right. :D

I made this rocket cake for my sons 6th birthday. His wish was a rocket with fire, so I placed the rocket on a stick and used icing for the smoke. The whole rocket is made of fondant.

Used a rocket by irisgabriela as a guide. Tried to match the boys drawing.
They loved it. 2 5 inch cakes cut in the middle and put on their side. So we
had 8 5 inch half cakes. Then carved the nose and made MMF/gumpaste
fins. Covered in buttercream and MMF decorations. TFL!

My nephew wanted an alien cake for his birthday and this is what I came up with. The alien that is being crushed by the top tier was meant to be crushed by the UFO but I didn't have the room so I improvised....he'll think it's cool. The clear part is a plastic cup and the UFO is rice crispy treats covered in MMF.

This was made for a boy turning 5 who is fascinated with the solar system. His mom was anti-black icing so went with a little more cartoonish color scheme. The base is yellow cake covered in buttercream and fondant, which was then painted with blue luster dust and decorated with fondant stars & lettering. The "planet" is crispy rice treat covered in buttercream and fondant, which was then painted with yellow, red, orange food coloring and then with gold luster dust.

Half Sheet cake cut to make the space shuttle. Ran out of frosting, so only a "crumb coat" is on the shuttle. Would have looked much better w/another coat (or fondant). Royal Icing accents. The Moon is made with the Sports Ball cake pan. Tinted whipped frosting grey, and left all the imperfections. Craters made w/frosting spatula; tried a buttered spoon per suggestion, but didn't work for me. Topped with space "toys" from a mini moon rover set.
