This is a 12" yellow cake with butter/crisco buttercream icing and filling. Penguins and tiles are fondant. I used the mini wonder mold pan for the igloo. And Icecream cones for the trees. This cake was alot of fun.

Here's a cake inspired by rvallee and others in the gallery. MMF snowman and presents. Ice cream cones with buttercream leaves (although I should have used another tip, they look like relatives of Sigmund the Sea Monster!). Everything else is buttercream.

I was inspied by the cake made by Alickert. Thanks! I have only worked with fondant and thought I should finally get to the basics and learn BC. It was very different for me, but fun. I made the 4 snowmen to be myself, my husband and our girls. This was a fun cake to do and I can't wait to do more practice.

The little girl wanted a winter cake and she loves animals, so here it is. I was happpy with it until I did the writing (note to self "Do not write on cakes afetr 2hours of sleep and a 10 hour shift at work" by the way did I mention I work at Starbucks and drank plenty of espresso to make it through that shift??!! LOL) Thanks for looking and tolerating my whining.

This was a cake that I did in 2005. I just found this picture. I totally copied this from MelC. I just loved the snowmen and the colors and thought that she did an awesome job. Mine is not as good, but I wanted to thank her for the inspiration!

I made this cake for my future son-in-law.
Yellow cake with buttercream icing, and MMF figures, and gel water.
By the way, there is a "snowman kit" over beside the snowman. The penguins are going to build more snowmen! ( see, the extra coal, and carrot nose?")

This is an "attempted" snowman globe style cake. The snowman is done freehand, and I obviously suffered a blonde moment in the design process as everything ended up opposite of what the picture looked like -yikes-
Anyways, I used the clear edible glitter for a look of falling snow. My snowflakes aren't the greatest, but then again I'm not perfect. I almost lost this cake -it *ALMOST* did a nose dive as I got out of our car...luckily the damage was minimal, and to the side (and after I got the picture!)

Here in Michigan we didn't have snow for Christmas so for my final cake I decided to help out. The trees are chocolate, the cake is done in buttercream. The poinsetta's on the top were a last minute thought... I wanted "let it snow..." 3 times on top the girls told me to put it down below and put flowers up on top. I wish they were in a pastel color to go better with the rest of the cake. I skimmed through several books and took a few things from several different cakes to come up with this idea.
