Made for an avid golfers birthday. The idea is the golfer (birthday boy) got his golf ball stuck on the lilly pad and now the frog is laughing at him!

Everything on the cake is sculpted out of fondant and completely edible except for the flag pole. The sand is made out of a mixture of brown sugar and crushed gram-crackers. This cake is made of 3 layers and the writing is done with chocolate.

Make for a surprise 50th and designed after the birthday boys house boat. The main accessory for this family were the teal aderondak chairs which proved a lot harder to make than i thought. It's made of cake and covered in fondant. The bouyes are based off of the ones used on the north shore of long island ny. There are usually lights at the top, which I replaced with a hidden birthday candle so they could actually light them.

I was asked to do a bee shaped cake, even though I was an entomology major in college! It really should have been a cartoon bee, so I tried to soften the effect by adding a lei made of gumpaste flowers. It is a family joke now, and the birthday girl wasn't terrified, after all! Bee is fondant covered WASC, wings of gelatin sheets. Next time I will use modeling chocolate for legs instead of pipe cleaners.

Motif taken from her favorite "onesie". The whole thing is fondant covered cake and I used piping gel for a "slime trail". In this picture it is hard to see the snail's big, pink smile!

I built this cake freehand (you can tell by its lopsided demeanor) based on photos of my house. We paid off our mortgage this week and I decided weneeded to celebrate.

This cake was full of disasters, but my final product was better than my original plan! I had a horse head pan, but for the life of me I could not get a cake to come out of it in one piece. I tried everything! Finally I just took cake from the messed up horse heads, and sculpted the full body unicorn by hand. Not bad if I do say so! The first tier is chocolate sheet cake with poured chocolate butter filling. Covered in Chocolate fondant. The horse is white cake covered in mmf. It was really fun, but came down to the last minute, and the transportation was stressful!!!

2 Bundt cakes - easy peasy. Fondant leaves and pumpkin airbrushed. I wish the camera had picked up how pretty the gold pearl dust airbrushed on the pumpkin and leaves mellowed out the different colors and gave everything a rich but lightly shimmery golden hue. TFL!

This was a fun cake to make. Mickey's head is styrofoam covered in black fondant and the characters were purchased by the client from the Disney store. I had 6 wedding cakes the week I made this and was unable to get a proper picture. I had to snap a shot while it was still in the refridgerator before it was picked up!

My first roundish cake. I think he looks like a Lego man jack-o-lantern. The pumpkin is pumpkin cake, of course, covered in fondant. The bale of hay is yellow cake with butter cream frosting and fondant hay. Leaves are 'almost edible'...Maple cookies from the dollar store, painted with liquid colors. Kids would eat them, but most adults will stick with the cake!

While it resembles a topsy turvy cake this cake was actually sculpted to design made specifically for the bide and groom. With the cake as the center piece, the only adornments were sugar bats made of royal icing, painted and dusted, that hung from wire and a thin band of blac fondant around each tier. The fondant was then hand panted with gold scroll desgin from the invitation. Fresh flowers from the brides bouquet were added as well. The is an orange mocha cake with espresso ganache filling. The top tier (column) measured about 7" tall and the over all cake was just under 24".

My son was a huge fan of the movie Cars and especially liked Lightening McQueen. I decided to try my hand at carving. I think it turned out pretty good for my first try at sculpting. I forgot to put a board under the cake so I was unable to move it to a clean board after airbrushing it. I also wanted to finish the deatails in fondant but ran out of time. I learned that I need to do a little more planning ahead on cakes. LOL.
