This cake was made for a girl that turned 16. She wanted a rubber ducky cake so the challenge for me was to make it look like a b-day cake.. not a baby shower cake.

I didn't really like the colors of the rubber ducks--I think it would look cuter with yellow--but I didn't get to choose that. It is decorated using whipped frosting made from pudding, cool whip, cream cheese, and milk.

These are actually cupcakes that were iced over for a "water" look. I built it up so the cupcakes would rest high in the tub. The rubber ducky's are the B'day boys favorite bath toys, the bubbles are buttercream and the soap is fondant. The mother now has the tub as a keepsake of her son's 1st B'day. A small smash cake was made just for the b'day boy.

I took this photo before I added the yellow rubber duckies - they really made the difference. This was done with the sitting Wilton Bear pan and an oval cake to sit on.

Wasc with raspberry filling. Chocolate with banana cream filling. French Vanilla butter cream and covered with MMF. The duck on top is made from Rice Crispy treats. My mom found a recipe on here to make the ducks look shiny. I really like making baby shower cakes.

Baby shower. White fondant with blue accents. Rubber ducky, stroller, rattle and bottles are chocolate. I also made this cake in chocolate fondant. It's on my other pictures. They seen the chocolate baby block cake & requested one just like it but with white instead.

This cake was made for a friend's baby shower. She chose not to find out what the baby is, so the shower theme wasn't gender specific...just duckies! This is based on a Wilton pattern from the 2010 yearbook. I just love how it turned out! TFL!!

After 13 hrs of decorating...I finally got this cake to work! Three layers, 10 cake mixes, and a lot of tears. The sculpting of the body was the easy part. It was gtting the crispy treat head to be supported enough that was the tricky part! I have since done the same cake (not as big, and no tears) in other colors as well.

My step brother and his girlfriend just had a baby a couple of weeks ago. I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he sounded exhausted and a little crestfallen after several days of two hours sleep a night! Brought back the memories of first baby culture shock, I thought I would send this down with my mum who is visiting tomorrow to keep their strength up and hopefully make them laugh, I made it in an afternoon so it was a quickie, but I like the way it turned out!
