My sister and I hosted a baby shower for a good friend of ours. I decided to be responsible for all the decorations and the cake. I have not slept for a whole week!! lol I was inspired by a beautiful cake posted here on CC by Jaklotz1......I really did not stray too much from the original bacause it was the perfect colors and look I was going for. Topper was made with 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. I used styrofoam for the tub. This is my fifth cake overall and I learned so much.....TFL

This cake was so fun to make. It's an 8 in. vanilla cake covered and filled with chocolate buttercream icing. The slats, or boards, were made of fondant, as well as, the bubbles. The water on the cake was iced with blue buttercream icing. The only things that were not edible on the cake were the rubber duckies. I was looking for ideas for baby shower cakes and found numerous rubber duckies in a tub on this site. Thanks to eor112 for the inspiration!!

3-10 inch layers, leveled & iced with buttercream. "Planks" made of chocolate fondant, attached with piping gel. Colored & flavored piping gel on top. Soap and bubbles made of fondant & gumpaste. Everything is edible except the duckies! I have to thank all of the people who posted their photos of rubber ducky baby shower cakes for my inspiration. Enjoy :)

This was a carrot cake with decorator cream cheese frosting. It was hard to make it look pretty! I used gingham ribbon to cover some of my sins. The ducky is made from homemade "white chocolate clay" tinted yellow.

I used the 3D rubber ducky pan from wilton. I got the idea from you all here on CC. Every pic I looked at said they had trouble with the feathers falling off so I was really reluctant. But I decided to go for it! I didn't have any trouble at all. I used the pound cake recipe on the side of a DH box which made the cake stiffer. I put the cake in the fridge overnight and let the fondant set overnight. I also used the homeade marshmellow fondant recipe found on here too. It was excellent by the way.

This is a cake made for my friend. I went looking for a yellow duck, but only found green. I then changed the whole cake idea to fit the green duck. I think it turned out pretty well. It's all MMF.

Thanks for looking!

Cakes are chocolate and white with buttercreme. I could not decide on what kind of cake that I wanted, so I decided to make a baby shower cake with various decals.

This cake was made for my best friends son who just turned 1! He absolutely loves bathtime so I thought the Rubber Ducky theme was fitting! My apartment is constantly hot though so unfortunately the sides started to run slightly...

The was done for a co-worker's baby shower. It's the first cake I've ever done using fondant (MMF specifically). The mother was thrilled with the cake, even though were teased her about waddling like a duck at the end of her pregnancy. The sides of the tub, soap, and facecloth are fondant. The water and bubbles are buttercream.

I made this cake for a baby shower for a baby girl. The top is supposed to resemble a bubble bath with floating rubber ducks. For the "bubbles" I used Marshmallow Fondant which I died with a VERY small amount of pink food coloring, then brushed with pink pearl dust.
