Plain and simple...nothing fancy about it! I tried the buttercream recipe on CC (the one with more butter than crisco) and made it chocolate buttercream. Delicious!! That is my new favorite icing!

My first wedding cake done for a friend, free of charge, as a buisness kick-off. It took me about a week to make the icing, bake five cakes, which are 6", 8", 10", 12", and 14". It took me a whole day to bake those cakes. I learned my lesson that I shouldn't procrastinate about starting early. I would love to hear your suggestions and comments, they help improve my ability to make the perfect wedding cake. THANKS!!!!!

I made this cake in Course 3 and it is a Wilton design. All fondant covered and decorations.
This is a triple layer chocolate butter fudge cake, torted x 3 and filled with whipped ganache, frosted with buttercream then covered in fondant.
These little Daisies are so adorable and a joy to create! I think I am having waaaaaay to much fun with fondant! :)

This was my first attempt at a wedding cake. It was for my brother's wedding. I had to transport it 3 hours away. Fortunately, I was easily able to patch a crack and a hole in the icing. No one could even tell! The "18" candles were in honor of the bride's brother's birthday.

I did this cake two days ago for a play cast party. The hostess wanted magnolias since the play was called, "Steel Magnolias." I had to push the gumpaste, so I wasn't extremely pleased with the magnolias' look. The hostess seemed happy, though. I tried to do the writing like the play's logo--block letters then cursive at an angle. After doing the confirmation cake with the large star tip on the sides, I've been doing more of that. Kind of a different look. Easy, too.

This is a pound cake with strawberry filling and Choco-pan wedding white fondant--although it looked more like ivory to me. The drape was made to match the bride's dress--every other fold was brushed with luster dust. I actually attended this wedding and ended up cutting the cake. It was very enlightening seeing the innards--made me realize just how important dowels really are. I definitely need to dowel more!!

This was for my girl's combined birthday party - they are now 9 & 4. We wanted to try something different so after going through pictures on cc and many books - this is what we came up with. This one was hard to cut, we all really loved it. I drew a lot of inspiration from Collette. It's all mmf and painted. The spirals are wires with color flow dots, gumpaste bows and roses. Lots of fun to do. Thanks for looking

The wedding and reception were held outdoors, with the bride choosing a garden themed wedding cake. Each double layer, placed on acrylic pedestals, is covered with buttercream icing and a deliciously tasty chocolate branch with silk flowers.
