After getting inspiration from the many tiaras @ CakeCentral (not to mention help in the forum) I made my very first tiara and my first pillow cake. I made my own template and used melted Merckens white chocolates and edible pearls fo rthe tiara. Everything else is fondant. I made some mistakes along the way , but if there's anything I've learned in my years of cake decorating, it's how to cover a flaw! (hence, the pink drape) I gave $70 as the price. (It's a 1/2 sheet cut in half and stacked)

YES! I got it done and transported...how stressful! The crown broke twice and had to re-royal it a few days ago, chocolate cake is derfinately heavier and didnt "poof" as much as I thought it would, but it was SOO fun to make and do. It was delivered to my neighbor, the first ive done in the neighborhood so I was extra nervous over that! Thanks Mom for making the crown, it made the cake!

All fondant decorations, made for a friend's daughter's Christening. Her theme was butterflies and she loved a previous design of mine, except for the tiara, so I changed it a bit and came up with this. Thanks for looking!!!

This was a monster cake! 14" and 12" layers, both 4" tall, provided by a local bakery where the mother LOVES their buttercream. Brought to me with only crumb coating and 2 cups of extra frosting. Added my pillow cake on top and additional flourishes to make it match the 23 individual princess cakes that went with this order... will post next.

This cake is for my friend's daughter, who is turning 1. I'm not totally happy with the outcome...had a very hard time with the pillow. The corners kept sagging under the weight of the fondant! The pillow cake is MMF with luster dust, the bottom is iced in BC with MMF accents. Thanks for looking!

I was asked to make grand cake for a sweet 16 birthday party. This is it. The cake is french vanilla and gold with buttercream frosting and fondant. The top ribbon is fondant with rhinestone-type jewels for a bit of sparkle. There are colored chocolate diamonds surrounding the top cake with a fabric ribbon The carriage is made of gum-paste and poured sugar. I used brass wire to hang candy jewels that I made.
I would just like to thank all the people here at CC who share their wonderful tips and ideas.

four layers of red velvet cake covered in mmf. The roses are made of fondant that I painted. I wish they hadn't turned out so shiny and looked more natural I tried coloring the fondant first but they looked too dull. I guess it takes practice to get it right!

This is my first pillow cake. I was too nervous to flip the cake and carve from the bottom side since I wasn't covering in fondant to "hold it all together". Gravity is my enemy at times and I didn't want to risk it. White BC airbrushed with my own concoction of purple color & fondant tassels. Gumpaste crown (from a previous picture was for this cake).

I made this cake for my daughter's 11th birthday this weekend. The pillow was made following the tutorial for how to make a pillow cake on this site. However, I started with a two layer, 10" square cake. I didn't freeze the cake though, and it still carved just fine. Pillow was covered with rolled buttercream, which is my first time trying it. The puppy was made from cupcakes, and then all was stuck together using buttercream. Thanks to infields, as I worked from her Maltese cake for inspiration.

This is my first attempt at a pillow. Didn't quite turn out exactly the way I wanted, but my customer was extremely happy with the result. It's yellow cake w/buttercream icing. I used an impression mat and gold dragees. I bought the tiara from Party City.
