the bride said she wanted a gazebo shaped cake with the bride and groom in the middle and peach roses. This is what I came up with. I didn't relize I had never done lattice work until I started to decorate and had no idea what I was doing. It could use some work. I couldn't really tell if the bride liked the cake or not. I didn't get much of a reaction from her, except "it's nice"

Class 3 stacked cake project. Buttercream icing with royal icing flowers (which, alas, aren't botanically accurate. However! I work with a horticulturist who tried to smell my silk flowers--so go figure! Anyhow, the cake was great fun and turned out decidedly feminine. My DH took it to his office, God bless him!!!! The cake was peach.

this was made for pratice. I learned I've alot to learn. This was the first time trying to cover a doll in fondant, doing fondant ruffles, trying to pattern the fondant with patchwork cutters and trying to pipe with gold gel. Spice cake with vanilla butternut iceing.

This is an 8" peach flavored cake with peach BC covered in peach colored chocolate fondant. It is a very simple design I used a patchwork cutter for the swan & just highlighted parts of it with Antique white Luster dust. I imprinted one of my lace cutters around the edge. I just felt like making a cake for the family.

One of my favorites so far. Flowers were put on by the florist. Bride chose the ribbon and they had designed their own mongram logo - which I hand painted in the colors which matched the ribbon on a piece of fondant and attached to bottom tier. This wedding was gorgeous!!

Rolled sugar cookie recipe from recipegoldmine.com. Cookies are 4", 3", 1 3/4" and were covered with fondant upon removal from oven then stacked while still hot/really warm. Roses/buds were made of 50/50 gp/f using the small pink Wilton 5 petal cutter. This is another one of those things I had to make to get it out of my system...

8" banana cake with orange smbc. All flowers and leaves are royal icing except the dark blue carnations which are fondant/gumpaste. It's hardly noticeable in this shot but there are a couple of BIIIIIIG lilies that were made with a big leaf tip and greased foil cones(take a large piece of foil and shape over your finger then open and round off the top)...lily nail set only goes so big...the smaller lilies with the spots were made using the largest of the lily nail set.

This was for one of my coworkers. We hosted a shower for him at work. The cake is french vanilla with buttercream filling. Her colors were peach and blue, but I stuck with peach for the cake. I also had to make my own double heart design by carving one of the hearts and inserting the other one into the hole. Once I iced it smooth, you couldn't see the seam. TFL.

Hooray- first wedding cake over and done without a major catastrophy! All buttercream- color was requested by bride (was actually toned down just a bit from the swatch she gave me- was afraid it would look too much like a orange traffic cone!). A few sugar pearls and fresh flowers. Thanks beckbeck77 for the inspiration!

This is my first creation that I made my own (recipe) fondant (Ashlee's White Chocolate). This was also the first time that I attempted to cover a regular round cake with fondant (not carved or a dummy). I was also very excited to try my new bead maker...that made the pearl border! The request for the cake was (ALL PURPLE, MUST HAVE PEARLS AND PEACE SIGNS). The peace signs were all right. I just took a regular circle cutter and carved out the inside.

Thanks for looking :)
