Added finely crushed Oreos to my regular buttercream frosting(scraped out Oreo frosting- too sweet)- was a nice, stiff frosting to frost with- loved working with it- had only used for cupcakes before. Son's "graduation" from preschool and wanted something with the Batman symbol on it. "watch out kindergarten- here comes Colin" is what it says- you'd have to know him to understand. Took very little time to finish and I had fun making it.

3 layered cake. Top and bottom layers are chocolate and the middle layer is white. They are iced with MMF individually and then crushed oreos pressed onto the top and bottom layer. It was difficult but I am proud of the result.

Oh my word!!! How time consuming a difficult is it to create and put together something that looks so simple. I had no end of trouble with stress cracks in the icing when covering uneven or odd shaped cake any ideas on how to avoid this situation again would be greatly appreciated!!.
The cake itself is plain sponge filled with jam and butter cream then covered in fondant. The dirt in the skip and on the floor is crushed Oreo's. I added some neon green edible glitter to give the cake some sparkle. I know it's not perfect by any means but the lady was really happy, so I suppose job done!

I made this 9" "Oreo" Cookie cake with brownie mix instead of cake mix. I made it with a Williams Sonoma Pan that they just brought out. I think its so cute and probably would be good with ice cream too! I put an apple next to it so you can see the size a bit better.

The hat is RKT and covered in Wilton fondant. The cake and decorations are iced in BC. Red fish/blue fish cookies were wrapped in cellophane bags with red ribbon for party favors.

Made this chocolate cake for my son's 6th birthday. I mad the blocks with loaf pans. One box made 2 loaf pans. I trimmed off the rounded top of the loaf, then sandwiched them together with a layer of pre-made vanilla frosting. I used 3 boxes of cake mix. The last "block" I made, I cut in half to make the two half-blocks. I used trimmed lollipop sticks as support under the 2nd layer block. I placed the top block on a trimmed piece of cardboard for support. After a night in the fridge, the cake was beautiful for the party and no sagging at all! Used own recipe of buttercream for the frosting and frosted oreos for the bumps on the blocks. What a pain frosting oreos! Would have liked to do this cake with fondant, but my son likes the taste of buttercream better. Used gel-based food coloring so the buttercream stayed nice and stiff...not watered down. On some of the colors, I used the whole tube of food coloring per 8 oz frosting! They key to bright colors was letting the colored frosting sit for a few hours in the fridge. The whole cake was a hit! Delicious!

First attempt at many things.... first 3-D cake, first star tip icing and first time dipping oreos. Turned out pretty good. Especially loved eating all those "bubbles". The cake was my daughters 1st birthday as she was really into ducks. It was in a large basin and sitting on an upside down bowl which was hidden by all the "bubbles" made of chocolate covered oreos.

I had to try out this cake after seeing the YummyArts video for this cake. I used Sam's Non-Dairy Cream Topping for the cake and it tasted (and I think looked like :P) a store bought cake.

Here is my "Army of Turkey Cookies", as my son likes to call them (lol). I made 105 of these little cuties for my children to take into school and share with their classmates and teachers. They are made out of Oreo cookies, mini peanut butter cups, candy corn and whoppers. It took me a little over 6.5 hours to glue them all together using melted chocolate. I got the idea from a google search I did looking for Thanksgiving cookie ideas.
