Babies room is decorated with sea green, navy, and octopus. This is what I created to try to go with that theme. MMF octopus and accents. WASC with raspberry filling, and lemon cake filled with lemon curd and blueberry perserves.

This was done for my son's 3rd birthday. All buttercream. Butter pecan cake with coconut pecan filling. Octopus is white cake with choc. filling. This was my first 'round' cake... I'm surprised it stayed together because the round cake gave me fits.

had a lot of fun making the critters for the cake. what you cant really is that the happy birthday banner is unfurling from a bottle at sea. and maybe the shark fin. for a friends daughters first birthday.

This cake was for a beach themed baby shower. The mother was using the set from Baby Gap. I used individual small cake pans (sports balls) for the octopus and the turtle. The crab and starfish were molded out of extra cake.

Cupcakes to accompany Little Mermaid cake. Sea creatures made of MMF and dusted with Luster Dust, but it doesn't show in the photos!! I tried copying Liis cupcakes, but hers are far better!

I think this cake turned out really cute but the more I look at it I think it looks like a spider!!!I I used the sports ball pan and Iced the cake in buttercream,I used fondant for the legs and face.Thanks for looking!

I made this for my Dad a little bit over 1 year ago. He is an "under the sea" and octopus fan. If I could change things, I would have done the eyes differently, not sprinkled powdered sugar and definitely done a more careful job on the decorations and icing. Thanks for your constructive criticism.

This cake was a lot of fun to make. I did use a letter press for the writing - something I never use anymore. I have recently found the key to good writing is in the consistency of the icing, it needs to be runny enough to flow smoothly and just firm enough to hold shape.

The octopus and crab are both fondant-covered cake. Starfish is candy clay. Variety of decorations including chocolate candy rocks and sugar layons.

The lady that ordered this cake was having a nautical themed baby shower. She wanted it to have a purple octopus on it, and then the baby things being caught in the fish net. Cake is buttercream except for the net, and the things in it and the sea shells are fondant.

These guys are from the Wiggles. Yellow cake with b/c. Fondant Dorothy and Henry. For a little girl's third birthday. I hope she likes it! (And recognizes the figures!)

the octopus was 6-8" layers carved and covered with fondant. The cake was actually cake frosted in buttercream. The hat was a waffle cone covered with fondant and fondant details. Thanks for looking!

This is a 12inch base with a 10inch top, marbled fondant. The Octopus is hand molded, with most of the other sea creatures from molds or cutters, and the hand painting added in to mix up the colours and hopefully make it more 3 dimensional. Was told party colours were green and orange, so focused on them while trying to balance the colours with the theme. This is the 3rd of 3 cakes miraculously completed in 4 evenings, not sure how I managed that! :D

Cake for a benefit for a childeren's museum. One of their exhibits is a submarine wall that encourages exploration of the world around them-which they thought would translate nicely into a cake. Chocolate, chocolatechip cake, espresso cream filling, white chocolate BC. All decorations are fondant. Thanks for looking!

This isn't a very good pic. but this is a farewell cake that I made for one of our friends that is moving away. This was my second time making fondant figures.... they were so much fun! Thanks so much to Liis for all her tutorials! I feel that I was able to make them my own and add some character to them. Fun! Fun! I will post a closeup of the figures so you can see them better! I baked a vanilla cake and cut it into cubes to do the baby blocks. The 13x9 inch cake is chocolate fudge with chocolate ganache filling. The creatures are molded out of fondant and the shells are made from using Wilton's candy mold.

Pirates & Treasure was the theme for my son's birthday, so this is what I came up with. The chest is from the '91 Wilton Yearbook. All buttercream w/gold choc. coins. The lid is iced cardboard. If I had to do it over again, I would have done the face different he looks a little....CRAZY!!! Thanks for looking!

This cake was done for a young man's Bar Mitzvah. He wanted an octopus cake and was thrilled with the cake I made for him. It was a coconut cake with white chocolate coconut cream mousse filling. The sand is crushed sugar cookies and the sea shells were made of white chocolate and dusted with luster duster.

3 tier Shark and Mermaid cake for my daughter's 6th birthday. All the sea shells are molded white chocolate dusted with lustre dusts. The figures are hand molded in gumpaste/fondant mix. Fun cake to do but a nightmare to serve. We almost had a riot on our hands as all the kids wanted a figure and there were not enough to go around. Top tier is RCT, middle tier is banana cake with caramel filling, bottom tier is chocolate with morello cherry buttercream filling.

This was a last minute cake for a co-worker who specifically asked for a purple cartoonish octopus holding something. I didn't have time to fondant the tenticles like I wanted, but hey, that's how it goes sometimes. They were made out of rice krispies treats then airbrushed. In the treasure chest are gem shaped hard candies that I also made. The treasure chest is plastic.
