The little girls mom showed me a photo of a simple pink cake with a monogram and a plastic tiara on top. So I changed the design up a little made the crown out of fondant and this is how it turned out. She loved it, so i was happy!!

I made this cake for my sister's friend's baby shower. Was very last minute, and was the colors of the baby's bedroom.

My first 'real' wedding cake. Fruit cakes - made by the MOG and were 3 cakes I had to cut and stack into two squares - impossible to get them even hence the cushioning effect which helped disguise it. Ribbons and flowers provided by the family and I made them into bows - a little OTT for my taste but I think they were happy!

A simple 3-tiers 12-9-6 wedding cake for a small wedding. Blue satin ribbon around each tier and monogram in same blue color with luster dust added for shine. The topper was the 'something borrowed' and yes -- this was the only background shot I had at the reception! Thanks for looking.

I had this cake made for my future daughter-in-laws bridal shower. I made the glass diorama that separates the layers. It contains a miniture picture frame, dove sculpture, crystals and silk flowers. I also placed several mini LCD lights that gave a soft glow. It was a BIG hit!

Three tier wedding cake with black ribbon around each tier. It is a pretty simple cake, but beautiful and classic. I also like the idea of the monogram letter on top.

I have a whole new appreciation for all cake artists who do wedding cakes on a regular basis - and sometimes more that one a weekend. I am so tired - this cake almost kicked my butt. Seems like I worked on it forever. I am happy with the way it turned out but still have to work on those corners a little more.

This is "Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes" from the recipe section, MMF made with chocolate marshmallows from MNFlowerGirl. I also painted the initials with luster dust and vodka- I need to work on my penmenship!
This is my second attempt at fondant on a square cake- not too bad, not too good either, but I'll keep trying. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, please!

This is the cake my DD picked out for her birthday and it suits her. Dramatic, pink, and flowery. The design came from the 2007 Wilton Yearbook, with a few style changes.

This was for my sister's second wedding. I like the arrangement on one side and I thought the family photo balanced it out nicely. This was out of the newer Wilton book and was coated in the crystal sparkle sugar. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be!

6" white cake with raspberries and buttercream. 8" chocolate cake with chocolate chip buttercream. Covered in MMF. "M" at the top started out to just be the fondant coil but was not sturdy enough so I made a white chocolate M and placed the pink M on and let it dry, then added edible pearls. Top of M broke due to my clumsiness and had to do some emergency first aid right before I left for delivery. I am not impressed with it but I think it's kinda cute. It's what the host wanted.

This is a 6 inch wedding cake made for the bride and groom to share on their honeymoon. When looking for something for the top someone suggested a monogram like one Toba Garrett has done. Mine (of course) isn't nearly as beautiful as that one. Rolled buttercream, fondant plaque, buttercream accents and gumpaste calla lilies.
