This was a fun little cake. I had a bunch of help from the birthday girl. She was turning 11. She and her mom had a lot of fun helping decorate the cake! I wished the icing would've been smooth like TamiAZ. :) But...I guess the birthday girl was happy...so I am happy too. :) I'm uploading pics of my monkeys too.

This was a graduation, birthday, and going away cake. The girl was going off to Africa for two years, so we went with a jungle themed cake. It is buttercream, the animals are fondant/gumpaste.

That was the theme of this little one's birthday party! The background is airbrushed (a yellow base with the brown oversprayed over masking for the spots). The monkey is a FBCT, not a smart idea in this crazy TX weather this week...it was melting in my hands, and gave me a bit of trouble. But all worked out in the end!

This is the back view of the jungle cake. My first attempt at a waterfall.
some of the rocks are chocolate covered coffe beans ans some are edible rocks. I used piping gel tinted blue for the water look. Thank you to all of the numerous CC members for ideas and inspiration.

THis was made to match the invites. They said something like "lIttle monky Libby Gray is turning one". THe monkey is gumpaste and I had a time putting the dress on it. But I had great fun making it. I just love figures.

This was a huge baby shower cake, 14-10-6 and two small ovals on the sides, the animals are hand sculpted in mmf and gumpaste. The customer is saving the animals to decorate the nursery of the baby. I love the litle monkey sucking his tumb.

Bday cake for my twin sister ("the evil twin")! I wanted to use her fave colors - black & burgundy and make it gothy for her. The bottom 9" is lemon blueberry cake. It is filled with a mixture of bc & lemon curd and iced in bc. The top cake is choc choc chip pound cake with alternating layers of choc and cookies & cream filling and iced in choc bc. The monkey is MMF and so is her name. The flames are also MMF that I colored and then airbrushed. The studs are edible silver dragees.

Made for my neice who loves monkeys. It is a wonder mold on top of a 9 inch cake. Covered with buttercream, sprayed with yellow color mist. It took me about 2 hours to make all of the bananas but it was so much fun. Bananas and monkey are MMF. It was the first time I was happy my Wilton color markers looked like they were running out of ink (LOL!) Credit to bmote1 for creative design.
