My daughter designed this cake for me to do for her birthday. I think we make a good team! I've come a long way since last year (see my photo album). I modeled all of the figures out of fondant (I got wonderful ideas for these from the cc gallery). At the last minute I decided to do the "Happy Birthday Katherine" message in chocolate transfer. I've been experimenting with this method alot recently. This cake was loads of fun to make!

I made this cake for my 11-year old nephew who is crazy about lemurs. The monkey is buttercream with multi-colored fur. It took hours to pull out all that fur, one strand at a time!! This is a texas sheet cake with chocolate fudge icing.

My first attempt at FBCT. Overall I'm pleased with the results. Since I was crazy enough to make it on the day of my daughter's party, I'm relieved it turned out at all! Definitely learned some things for next time.

This cake was requested for an anniversary. They wanted an edible monkey and elephant in a jungle type scene. So, everything is BC, except the sign is white chocolate and the tree is a Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookie with fondant leaves. The water is piping gel and the rocks are candy rocks.

The mommy-to-be is decorating the baby's room in blues, yellow and browns with monkeys. The used this as the shower theme as well but they added bananas, too. I got the monkey idea from Martha Stewart's magazine and the border matches the invites.

I have been wanting to try this since last summer. The frog and bees are made out of Easy MMF with Gumtex added. The monkey is made from Wilton Fondant and was much easier to work with.

Curious George and his bananas are sitting atop a smaller birthday cake and my 4 yr old daughter insisted on adding a waterfall too. Another C.George cake with a waterfall from this site inspired me.

This cake was for a dual 30th birthday. A girl and guy (who was my hubby). Got a call at the last minute to add two more people (not 30) to the cake. Didn't have time to make more monkeys, but had leftover bears. Didn't care for the addition, but ev1 was happy...:)

This was my first sheet cake for a double surprise birthday celebration. The picture was drawn onto wax paper and then I transfered it onto the cake by outlining it with piping gel turning the paper over and pressing it onto the cake. Then I filled in all of the stars. It worked but in the future I might color the piping gel first so I can see the outline better.

This cake was fun to make I ran out of icing so some stars are missing. The picture was drawn on wax paper I outlined it with piping gel and then transfered it onto the cake. And then filled it in with stars. It worked but in the future I might color my gel first so I can see it on the cake better.

This was the smash cake for my son's first birthday, made with half of the sports ball pan. He had fun sticking his hands in it, even though he didn't eat much! It went with the stacked cake with the sculpted monkey.

This was my son's first birthday cake (he had a separate smash cake). The monkey is made out of chocolate clay and the bananas are Runts. Frosted in buttercream with chocolate clay accents. This was both my first stacked cake (bottom is 2 8x3 layers and top is 4 inch) and my first sculpted figure...it was so fun!
