These were inspired by Adven68's wonderful jungle animal cupcakes. Thanks Adven68 for your help with them!! The monkeys are all fondant. Birthday girl gets the one with the party hat. Mom said her daughter liked Curious George...these don't really look like him, but it's a monkey!

I have to Thank "TamiAZ" for the inspiration for this cake. This cake was made for an expectant Mom who loves monkeys. 2 tiers of chocolate cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling and BC icing. Monkeys were molded out of fondant/gumpaste 50/50 mix.

This was done for my niece. She loves monkeys so I made pink and brown monkeys from fondant and yellow bananas. Then added the pink flowers on the trees.

Birthday cake for my little cousin. Inspired by a tshirt that she gave me - don't remember the name of this brand/character! This started off as a FBCT, but it stuck to the wax paper - so I had to salvage (and repair) as best that I could!

This is a dummy cake we did for a show and we've been taking it with us when we've given talks. Its a little beat up. It is a 16, 12, and 8 round dummy covered in buttercream with fondant accents and animals. The bottom side of the cake is the aquarium (cut out fish, sharks and turtles), above is the Africa exibit (lion, zebra, 2 elephants), then the polar exibit (penguins, polar bear, 2 seals), and jungle on top (monkey and giaraffe). There was a small water area on the back side w/ hippo and alligator

Latest Baby shower cake. First time w/ this theme. First time doing FBCT, had a small amount of difficulty, but not bad. Elephant and Giraffe are the FBCT, monkey in tree is BC piped. Yellow cake with BC frosting. Constructive criticism WELCOMED! I would've liked to add more color I think...???

These were SO much fun to do. I ended up with two dozen, all different, kind of like a giant Monkey Brady Bunch, all gazing around at each other.

Golden cake with extra vanilla, dark choc buttercream. Antonia74 icing for eyes, Nilla wafer muzzles, giant daisy-sprinkle ears. They will accompany my Monkey cake (starting that next!!!) for a birthday tomorrow.

My Daughter loves Monkeys so this is what I came up with. I used buttercream frosting for the decorating. The monkey was made by using a buttercream transfer. I used the big leave tip to put the leaves all around the cake at the bottom so it looked like a jungle. I did have sometrouble with the buttercream transfer. The other monkey defrosted too fast while trying to apply it to the cake. Any suggestions as to how to do it better next time? Thanks!

Preschool bday cake for my niece and 4 classmates. I wasn't even going to attempt writing all their names on this half-sheet, so I made chocolate balloons with their names on it instead. My SIL will insert the balloons into the cake at the party. Hope she gets a good pic for me! Dora, Diego, and Boots are fbct's. Cake iced with Pastry Pride.

This is an adaptation of Wilton's Amazing Amazon cake. Cake is a peaches and cream cake with vanilla bc filling and icing. Animals and leaves are fondant. Grass is bc. The animals were a bit of a pain to make but it was my first time making any type of figures and I'm happy with how they turned out. I'll post a pic of all the animals. The surface of each tier looks wavy in the photos but did not in person. I don't know why that happens.

Decorated in all RI. I made these for a baby shower with a safari theme. The animals lack some character but I'm working on trying to give them more personality.

This is the cake I made for my 2 kids' b-day party today. I have a 4yo DS and 5yo DD, so we chose something that was fun for boys & girls alike. The sides of the bottom cake represents the aquarium section of the zoo, the top is the arctic animals (fondant), next is the savanna group, and the top tier is the tropics. Everything is edible except the monkeys & bananas on the top tier- those are Imaginext toys from their jungle line.
