Just a detail of the fondant Cameron (my sis' boxer) for her birthday cake.

You can see the entire cake in my photo album.

This was my first fondant figure. Learned a lot!

I wanted to practice using the MMF, which I have never made. I love it! I still need practice on smoothing the bottom of a cake with fondant but I loved working with it!

This is a cake that I made just for practice. 10/6/4 inch rounds Choc. cake with strawberry filling and covered in mmf. Flowers and ribbon are fake. I don't like this cake at all!!! I'm only posting it because I value all of your opinions. Thank goodness it was just practice and not an order, I gave it to a friend and they didn't mind it was bumpy! :) The mmf was soo weak, it made it almost to 105 degrees here today, and I had a ton of trouble working with it!

Found original idea on this site & in Wilton mag. The cake looks okay from this pic but, trust me, up close it was not so good. I made a huge mistake by piping the lines on the trees prior to sticking them together. Every single tree I had to chip off the royal icing in order to get the tree to go together correctly. Plus, my trees were flat, obviously my cake was not...I lack forethought....I should have dried the trees on something with a slight arch. Oh well, live and learn.

Hands down my favorite cake. Got the idea on this site (thanks!). The penguins, fish and igloo tiles are fondant. Trees are sugar cones. Water is piping gel with blue food coloring. The igloo is the Wilton barbie doll cake pan (the dress). The cake was very time consuming but did not take much skill at all.

This is a two layer French Vanilla cake with lilac marble, covered with Marshmallow Fondant. I'm very pleased with how it came out. Instead of the regular marshmallows, I used the marshmallow fluff and just added the confectioners sugar to it, did not need to microwave

I made this as a gift for a friend's birthday on Sunday. She loves the color peach and said she hadn't ever had a "feminine" birthday cake before. I had a couple of problems with it along the way, but I think she will enjoy it. Thanks for looking!

2 layer heart shaped chocolate cake. Cream cheese frosting in between layers. MMF covered. Tinker Bell is FBCT. BC Roses. Due to how her face turned out, I had to give her plastic surgery which I forgot to take a picture of after the fact. The photo that I used for the the transefer, I was able to cut out her face and place it accordingly. The cake is 14x12x6..

12 inch package cake covered in mmf with mmf accents. Designed to match partyware. Inspired by boween's elmo surprise and many other members of this site. Thanks!!! The little girl absolutely loved this. I'm sure she was up all night from eating the big bird and cookie monster figures.

This was a hat cake I made for my mother's birthday. I had wanted to do a hat cake and used this as an excuse to make it. It was my first time using MMF. I found it dried rather quickly so I had a problem with the bow and rose. Turned out pretty well in the end though.

I made this cake for some friends who just bought their first house. It is a white cake w/pudding filling and BC icing. The frog decorations are MMF. This was my first time using MMF - lots of fun! I looked up other frog cakes here on CC and copied one of the frogs. Thanks for sharing all your great cake ideas! (I need to get some sculpey clay books! ) I didn't think I could write neatly on the wavy, water-like cake, so I printed the wording on cardstock.

The bride's theme was fans, and I thought that was so romantic and had so much fun with it! The fan on top was made from gumpaste, and I got the cutter from Scott Clark Wooley in NYC (who is so wonderful, by the way!). The cake is covered in MMF. It has rope garlands and the fans are made out of chocolate.

This is a single layer 9" marble cake filled w/ seedless blackberry preserves and covered w/MMF. Bear, roses, and border for the lounger are all MMF. Cake is sprayed with Wilton's pink spray color. I made this cake to practice with fondant and to add a new pic to my customer album. It could use something else, but I am not sure what. Thanks for any and all comments.

A co-worker is leaving to pursue writing full time. I made this cake to (hopefully) capture the style in which she writes. It is Italian Cream Cake with coconut buttercream covered by MMF. Figures are MMF. Only my second time making people - thank goodness for Debbie Brown's book!

This is my first MMF cake. It is a 5" butter cake filled with strawberry filling. I learned to roll my MMF thinner to cover the cake if I don't want a dome effect. With it rounded, it looks kind of like a Strawberry Shortcake or Mario Brothers cake. Also, I learned to measure the circumference of the cake for the ribbon at the bottom so that I don't have so many seams.

This was the first time I used MMF. I made it and tasted it and thought finally something that tastes good-lol. I made this for my Brother-in-law. My family was so pleased they called other family and told them to come look at it. Well, they loved the MMF as well which made it worth making it. The idea cake from 2005 wilton cake book. It is a butter cake with buttercream icing.

On the left is a "smash" cake and on the right is the cake for the guests. In the middle is my daughter's favorite toy, which is a bear holding a green blanket. I modeled the cakes after this toy. I used MMF (for the first time ever) on the blankets. I used the Wilton mini-bear and standup bear pans.

I was inspired by ellepal's gorgeous wedding gown cake last weekend to make one of my own - this one patterned after my own wedding dress. It's a 6, 8, 10, 12, covered in MMF with MMF bows and pearls. The embroidery and scalloping at the bottom are royal painted with super pearl. Satin ribbons around the bottom of each tier and silk flowers on top. The inset picture shows how the tiers line up at the back. I'm really happy with this one!

This is a first ever kinda cake. First time ever making & using MMF. First ever making and using gumpaste, & first ever doing stringwork. I need lots of practice yet on the stringwork, but I think I have the hang of it. I also need lot's of practice on making gumpaste roses, again, I THINK I have the hang of it. I just really need practice - practice - practice. Not to shabby for self-taught is it? Be honest now, I can handle it. I'll never know if you don't tell the truth. Truth is what I NEED.
