Two 12" squares for the bottom cake, Two 8" squares for the top cake. All done in MMF. First time at MMF. The bow was held togeather with candy melts. I did get some wrinkles in the fondant on the larger cake and found it not to be as shinny as regular fondant. Not sure what I did wrong, but it was a learning experience. The top cake turned out nice. The cake was donated to a school event.

I tried to duplicate Collette's cake. I'm ok with it. I placed the flowers too far apart, so there aren't as many on mine. And I didn't cover a cake board, since I didn't have one handy....just made fondant balls around the bottom of the cake. I tried her chocolate cake recipe and MMF for the first time. I'm bringing it to work, just to get some publicity and some evaluations of the recipes. Hey, gotta build the portfolio, right?

This was for my first grader's class. They have been learning about 100 for the past few weeks and the 100th day of scholl fell on Valentine's day so this what I came up with! Really, it was a great excuse to practice a tiered cake! The kids loved it and some of them had to count the hearts to make sure I put 100 on there...I did! It was fun!

This is my second "diploma" cake. I used the book pan, an edible image pasted on MMF with gel for the diploma, and gold dust on the "pages".

These are vanilla cupcakes with Italian Meringue Buttercream icing. The hearts are MMF with the kids names written with edible ink markers and dusted with irredescent luster dust! The kids in my daughter's class (3 year olds) really enjoyed having their "own" cupcake.

Yellow cake covered with MMF. The cross is MMF mixed with fixodent. This was thrown together last night, so I didn't get to make the lid and I forgot the handles on the sides, but otherwise I was happy with it. I just wish I had some lustre dust with me!!

Dummy cake with a whole bunch of firsts... first time covering "cake" with MMF, first MMF flowers, and luster dust... I still need to cover the edge of the boards with ribbon. This is for my sisters wedding so she has a "cake" for the top of her cupcake tower.

Very proud of this cake. Made this for my husband's birthday, he loves dragons. Not the original theme I wanted to go with, but glad I decided on this cake. Got the instructions from collet's book. Chocolate mayo cake with cream cheese frosting covered in mmf. Still need some practice with the mmf, but most of the flaws I was able to cover up, lol. TFL!

I was starting a tiered cake for practice and the larger tier had baking "issues"...so I transformed it into a small birthday cake. The ribbons are just one of those Hallmark ribbon sprays that i placed on top to finish it off. I had some pleating issues in the back, but I've noticed that the more MMF cakes I do, the less pleating I get. :)

Still practicing with MMF...I think I may have finally gotten a feel for it! This is my practice dummy, it is always displayed on my kitchen table. It is done from leftover MMF from my weekend cakes. I change it with the seasons (or when the mood strikes me!) Had so much fun making the bow and may make another one for a baby shower cake stis weekend!

Any tips or constructive critism welcome and appreciated!

This is a white cake with vanilla pudding. I used royal icing for the dam. The flowers are made of gum paste with royal frosting center. THe cake is covered with cream cheese frosting and mm fondant. I used yellow fondant to make circles around the cake. I modeled it after "yellow circles" on brides magazine website. This is a 6in and a 4in cake. I made it just for fun... Trying to figure out who to give it to :)

Made this for my daughter's 6th birthday, design matches invitations. Cakes are covered in MMF & painted with Americolor gel pastes. Had issues with the straps and ended making them out of cardboard and wire covered in ribbon. This was VERY time consuming because of the painting.

Golden Buttermilk Vanilla cake with chocolate cream cheese filling, covered in pink MMF with lace medallion and gumpaste Rubrum Lily.

Disregard the date - I borrowed a co-worker's digital camera and she didn't know how to turn the date stamp off!

MMF monkeys, MMF pink bubbles, IMBC icing. This cake was for my future sister-in-law, who absolutely adored the monkeys. She kept them!

Any suggestions?

Made today for my sister's 30th birthday, which was yesterday, but we had our family party tonite.

She LOVES her boxer and blacklab, so I threw together this cake immortalizing her boxer in MMF. Everything is edible except the toothpick on the balloon. This was my very first time doing any type of figure modeling. I was pleased with how it turned out, and I can't wait to make some more.

Sour Cream White Cake + Vanilla Buttercream + my very own White Chocolate Cream Cheese Strawberry filling. SO good!

This is my first attempt at covering a cake with mmf. I love the mmf recipe that I downloaded from this site. It definitely tastes much better than the wilton fondant and it is easy to make and use. I also made the rubber ducks with the fondant, too. Let me know what you all think.
